I think this is a fantastic idea. If we aren't entirely certain whether a specific action triggers a penalty, we really ought to check in here first. The only real catch is that waiting on a moderator's response can take quite a while; by the time they actually weigh in, hasn't the conversation usually moved on to something else, leaving the original point lost in the shuffle?

I don't see why you'd get flagged for that. It's just your take on who is best suited for the conversation. As long as you back up your reasoning with some actual logic, you should be fine. A strike or a ban seems a bit overkill here.

Alright, look, I was just asking because I reported a user who made the exact same claim about Catholic priests, and nothing happened. Thanks, but no thanks. And before you ask—no, I’d never say something like that myself; I'm just curious about how the mods actually handle this stuff. By the way, that user who made the comment about the priests didn't offer a single shred of reasoning for their stance.

Look, people are entitled to believe certain individuals or groups should be the ones calling the shots. Others won't see it that way. At the end of the day, it's just an opinion, and you can't really shut that down unless it straight-up breaks the rules.

I think we both know that wasn't about who's "most competent" here—it was just a straight-up insult wrapped in fancy packaging. But fine, whatever.
