Why was my movie thread deleted for no reason?

So, I posted a new thread late last night over in the movie subforum. I checked back today... and it's nowhere to be found!

I thought maybe it just got moved somewhere else, but I’ve combed through everything and it’s definitely been deleted. Does anyone know why? I didn't break any of the rules!

Isn't the standard practice for a mod or admin to send a quick PM if something like this happens?

I didn't even get an infraction notice, yet the thread is gone. It doesn't make much sense to me. Could someone please explain what happened?

I had to pull this thread because it wasn't set up quite right.

Just a few lines down, you'll see a separate thread for RECOMMENDATIONS (we usually auto-delete any standalone posts like this) where you can jump in and ask folks for movie suggestions similar to ILS. Maybe just sharpen up the request a bit though... "torture movies" is a pretty massive umbrella term to try and cover.

If you're ever hunting for a movie but can't remember the title, we have a dedicated spot for that— right here—so feel free to drop a query there instead.

Normally, we'd just move a post over if it's strictly about getting a recommendation, but when things get all mixed up like this, we just end up deleting them.
