What are your thoughts on this? I might be missing something here, but are these two covers intentionally identical or just a total coincidence:

I'm with you on Keith Jarrett. Between 'Facing You' and 'My Song,' that's easily my favorite Jarrett record. 🙂

That cover—even if it’s basically a carbon copy—at least feels subtle, like there's some level of respect involved.
(Though I notice they do that with pretty much every album).
Honestly, this kind of stuff creeps me out:

Nick Drake's 'Bryter Layter' is one of my all-time favorites, period.
But no matter how much this Japanese band did it out of pure admiration,
it still feels pretty creepy to me... 🙂

uf, granitepuma, that Chris McGregor's Brotherhood of Breath "live at Willisau" is such a killer album. I honestly thought hardly anyone had the guts to dig into Chris's stuff. Such an incredible, incredible pianist 👍

Nah, they do that on purpose. It's like a tribute to the musicians and groups that shaped them. No matter how much you might dislike this Boris guy, the album itself is still pure gold 👍

My bad, I always get those two covers mixed up.

Yeah, there are plenty of them scattered across THIS page, which makes it pretty convenient for running some comparisons.
A good chunk of them are nothing more than pure homage—even if it’s just through some tiny little detail—or they’re just slight variations on a theme. I suppose The Ramones did a decent job of adding their own spice to whatever they were working with. 😁
