The new flick from director Robert Schwentke—who most people know for his work on Red i Flightplan—is actually based on that Rest in Peace Department comic book by Peter M. Lenkov.



Ryan Reynolds is taking the lead here, and he's backed up by a seriously heavy-hitting cast including Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon, Mary-Louise Parker, Robert Knepper, and Mike O'Malley.

The whole story follows this young cop who gets brought back to life after being killed; he ends up joining a squad of undead officers to track down the guy who took him out.

Kevin Bacon plays the bad guy, while Jeff Bridges plays Reynolds' partner, a guy who's actually been "dead" for hundreds of years.

You can catch this one hitting theaters on July 19th next year.

And yeah, we're talking about THAT boss. Nick Cruz was taken out by some mystery killer right when he was hitting his stride, both personally and professionally. Now, he’s basically traded a century of service with the R.I.P.D. for one single chance to hunt down his murderer. The catch? His investigation is going to take him through Hell and back -- quite literally.

It's an interesting concept, I'll give you that. Though, it could certainly use a bit more originality.

There’s actually one more, I opened it up back last year, so it wouldn't be a bad idea to just merge them together. 😉

Man, Bridges and Reynolds make such a killer acting duo! 👍

I mean, I’m honestly expecting anything at this point except for a bad movie, but hey, we’ll just have to wait up and see when it finally hits theaters.

I actually caught a trailer for this at the local cinema yesterday, and if I'm being honest, it looks like it could be a truly spectacular film! 👍

It’s a little bit derivative, I guess, but hey, nothing new there! Honestly, I just remember being stoked when I finally tracked it down at my local video rental shop...☕

It’s giving me major Men in Black vibes, but I’m actually digging 🙂

I’d say it’s basically just a rip-off of Men in Black, except in the game, it actually works. Aliens. Honestly, where do we even start with that one? Whether you’re talking about little green men or something way more high-tech and terrifying, the whole topic always feels like it’s just sitting there on the edge of our perception, waiting for someone to finally pull back the curtain. It's one of those things that makes the universe feel both massive and strangely crowded at the same time. Some dead guys. 🙂
