I am not entirely sure if there is an existing thread regarding this topic, aside from when it comes up during childbirth discussions,
so I thought I would ask... I developed a small tear in my perineal area following a lengthy sexual encounter. To be honest, I didn't even realize what had happened until the next day when I felt a sharp stinging sensation while urinating. Upon inspection, I noticed a small wound
in the perineal region... I didn't have anything on hand except for some Tyrosur powder (similar to Bacitracin)
so I applied that... but it isn't doing much; the area is far too moist for the powder to stay put🙄
I am wondering if anyone can recommend a topical treatment to speed up the healing process, because the stinging is quite intense...
My husband is currently away on vacation, and I have no intention of seeing the man covering his shifts since we haven't gotten along well in the past. This has been going on for three days now... does anyone have any "quick fix" advice?

Oak bark tea
boil it up and use it as a warm compress on the area
that always helped me with UTIs

I ended up with a tear in my perineal area after a rather lengthy session of intimacy. To be honest, I didn't even realize it happened until the next day when it started stinging terribly while I was using the restroom. When I finally checked, I saw a little wound
right there... I didn't have anything on hand except for some Tyrosur powder (similar to Neosporin)
so I tried applying that... but it isn't doing much; the area is just too moist for the powder to stay put. 🙄
So, I was wondering if anyone knows of a good ointment or cream that might speed up the healing process? It stings like absolute crazy!
My husband is currently away on vacation, and I really don't want to go to his substitute because we've had some issues with him in the past... this has been going on for three days now. Does anyone have any "quick fix" advice??

Maybe try a healing spray designed for minor wounds? There is a product similar to Neosporin but in a spray format. It might sting a little upon application, but I think it would be much more effective since it dries quickly while still working its magic...

Almond cream or St. John's Wort oil... those are the only two things I have on hand right now. Would it be wise to use either of those down there?

hmmm... I’ve actually just realized I have a small sore 😢 right near the entrance of the labia, just above the midline, and it’s actually stinging at the moment. The area seems to have healed somewhat, if I’m reading it right—there's a bit of a whitish layer of new skin forming. I've found that I feel much better simply washing the area and ensuring it stays thoroughly dry... rather than constantly applying various ointments or creams.

I think the area is starting to heal up a bit, maybe? It looks like there’s some whitish new skin forming... anyway, I’m noticing it feels way better if I just wash it and make sure I dry it off completely and keep everything dry... rather than messing around with applying different creams and stuff...

Honestly, those things usually just clear up on their own pretty fast.
Just watch what kind of underwear you're wearing (don't let them chafe that area down there), and maybe stay off the bike for a bit, too—since you're sitting right on it, all that bouncing is just gonna irritate the wound...

If you’ve got some calendula salve on hand, just use that. It’s great for minor scrapes, rashes, and stuff like that.

St. John's Wort oil might actually be useful for you—though I suppose I have to wonder if it’s particularly wise to leave a grease-soaked cotton ball lying around, given where you are. Maybe try applying it overnight, or just dab some on during the day whenever it starts acting up—assuming it’s actually bothering you while you're walking or sitting about.

I am still struggling with this 🙂 ... I used a Monistat vaginal suppository because I thought I was dealing with another yeast infection, but three days later, there hasn't been any improvement whatsoever. Since yesterday, I’ve started using Gynopro because just trying to stay dry wasn't doing the trick... but as of this morning, things are still terrible. Everything is swollen externally 🙂 so much so that I have to carefully position myself just to use the restroom; the moment even a drop hits the area, the stinging is so intense it makes me see stars. To make matters worse, a crack in my skin has developed into what looks like a small, white, elongated blister—the kind you get when you burn yourself.
I can't seem to reach a gynecologist. I'm calling the hospital information line now, but nobody seems to know who is on call or where I can go for an exam 🙄 ...
And the worst part is that my period is due this Tuesday. If things haven't calmed down by then, the onset of my period is going to be absolutely unbearable 😢

Just head straight to the ER. They always have the staff list posted right by the entrance...
It’d probably be better to get this sorted before Tuesday rolls around.
I’m not sure where you’re located, but try searching the forum for private practitioners. Some of them might be able to squeeze you in right away.

Sometimes this stuff just happens out of nowhere, I guess. But honestly, it usually clears up on its own within three days...

I started my period this Sunday, and honestly, things are a mess. I can't even use a tampon because the area is still so raw and sensitive from the pad, which makes everything feel incredibly irritated 🙂. To make matters worse, I tried calling my doctor, but they refused to see me, claiming they won't perform an exam while I'm on my cycle 😕. I then went to a private clinic, only to receive the exact same response—they told me to come back once my period is over 🙂. Meanwhile, the irritation from the pad is absolutely unbearable 😢.😢😢

God, seriously 😢

I just really hope that one night of sex was worth all this absolute hell 😉

Anyway, definitely let me know when you finally get through this mess and everything is sorted out...

I went through the exact same ordeal; I actually suffered a vaginal tear following intercourse.🙂

It was such a prolonged struggle for me, and I truly understand how much that stinging sensation can hurt.🙂

I eventually consulted my gynecologist, and they recommended a specific medicated douche to aid in the healing process of the tissue. I can't recall the specific brand name, but I remember the packaging was pink and white, and inside were small sachets containing a powder.

The method involves boiling the powder in water first, then letting it cool down until it reaches a lukewarm temperature. You can pick up these types of medicated washes at any local pharmacy; the one I purchased had bright pink packaging and a device shaped somewhat like an accordion🤣 with a long, slender applicator tip at the top.

As for the procedure itself, once you have boiled the solution and let it reach a lukewarm state, you pour it into the device.😁 At that point, you really need a partner to assist you—I certainly couldn't manage it on my own—to gently insert the applicator and slowly squeeze the liquid inside. Of course, everything tends to leak out afterward; you feel this strange sensation of being filled up, and honestly, I found myself laughing uncontrollably because of the odd sounds it makes and the sheer absurdity of lying there on a towel on my bathroom floor.🤣

Ultimately, this treatment was incredibly effective for me, helping both with the physical tearing and the dryness issues I was facing. It is certainly worth looking into if you find yourself in a similar situation.

That’s called a water flosser😉

Oh, god... 🤣

I actually know this woman, maybe in her sixties, who keeps one of those things sitting right there in her bathroom, and I've always wondered what on earth 🤣
it's even for... But then again, I suppose you could probably handle the application yourself. This lady lives alone—no partner in sight—and she clearly finds a way to somehow make it 🤷work

Well done, Tara, you absolute legend 🤣

I have to admit, my husband and I were absolutely cracking up at that name. My own little pink

well, this

and the powder is actually called Rosalgin. She remembered 😁

It all seems quite funny to me. Honestly, I wouldn't have been able to manage that on my own because I am just so incredibly clumsy. If a little thing like that doesn't bring you and your partner closer together, then nothing ever will 🤣
