So, looks like everyone’s having a grand old time over there, huh? 😍
Are you guys just following that whole "more is always better" mantra, or is this more of an exclusive little club? 😬

Personally, if I were planning a trip like this, I’d get it done by August. Who knows if we'll even make it to September? 😍

Sure, as long as you don't mess up my September plans! I know it's a stretch, but I just can't make it work sooner. I might be free after August 26th... which basically makes it September anyway. So, yeah, go ahead, provided you promise to help me round up the crew in September.

Peter Martinez37 said:You can camp out at Lake Tahoe, and regarding the routes, I personally prefer Route 3. The climb toward Garešnica is longer than the others, but it’s not nearly as steep.

I think there might be a slight misunderstanding on my part regarding the tours.
Those three links combined would probably total somewhere around 60 or 70 miles for a single day.
My only concern is how the road looks between Mikleuška and Garić City.
Also, I'm questioning why I bothered looping back through KT after leaving Garešnica; we could just head straight there and cut the trip short. I mean, what is there really to see in KT?
Unless, of course, you guys coming from Chicago don't find that too much driving?

Donna Wells74 said:Wow, this all sounds great! Honestly, I really need to get my act together and start prepping. I'm down by the coast until August 26th, so I'm thinking September would be a better window. I'm not entirely sure what everyone else had in mind, but I need a little breathing room to organize. I've already got a sleeping bag, I just need to sort out a tent and grab some cargo pants to pack everything in. That's pretty much the gist of it.

The 8th works better for me too,
since school starts up in September, blah blah.🙂

Maybe the 29th, 30th, or 31st?🙂

Edit: On second thought, I don't think I'll be able to handle those two extra routes. I have a sudden trip coming up, so I won't have access to Google Earth, though I'll still be checking the forums.🙂
Actually, maybe I can make it work—we'll see. Just make sure you guys have enough coverage for those other two routes.😉

Looks like you guys already beat me to it 😁 Alright, there’s still a month left. From what I can see, a few of you are heading out soon, so I'll probably just jump in then. Honestly, that would be perfect for me too, since I'd just be stuck waiting on my PTO, assuming I can find someone to feed my pets while I'm gone 😁 OK, I'll figure that out. Well, uh... I should know by the end of next week

Nine months works for me—somewhere between the beginning and middle of the month. I can't swing anything earlier because of work. Let them head out whenever they want if they're itching to go, but they can always just catch up with us in nine months. By the way, whereabouts on the coast are you staying?

It's catastrophic. It was paved back in 1967 for a presidential visit and a monument unveiling over in Podgarić. Since then, heavy trucks hauling stone and timber have pretty much torn it apart. I guess the incline is relatively gentle compared to the Podgarić side, but you'd probably need an MTB or some serious trekking gear to get through.
There’s a spring near Mikleuška lake.

Yeah, things are pretty catastrophic around Mikleuška, but man, those woods are gorgeous. I guess the Midwest has amazing forests everywhere too, so let's just hope they actually stick around... though the roads here have been absolute trash forever, but hey, that's just the standard American reality for you.
@Walter Gomez16/">@@Walter Gomez16 - am I at the coast? Well, I'm not 😁 right now, but I'll be 😁 around San Diego and the area near Šibenik in a few days 😁
Anyway, I bet fadedcrane36 would be down to do the tour again in September, so we can all get together. 👋

Gregory Thomas12 said:I think you guys totally misunderstood my point about the tours.
Those three links—let's say it's roughly 60 miles in a single day.
I just don't know what the roads are like between Mikleuška and Garić town.
And I have no idea why I even doubled back through Garešnica just to hit KT—could've gone straight there and cut the trip short, honestly. What is there to see in KT anyway?
Unless, of course, it's not enough distance for you folks coming from Chicago?

It’s catastrophic, frankly. As for that wine route near Kutina—you might find a decent church or something along the way, but if I’m reading this right and that whole loop is meant for one day, then yeah, fine, it's a solid route. Whatever.

So where are you actually? 🙂 You can hit me up in a DM if you don't want to say it here. Based on what you wrote, 😁 I figured you were already out at the coast.

I'm sure people will show up. I'm aiming for September since the timing works perfectly for everything. Plus, it might not be quite as hot. And if we nail down the dates, I'll probably grab my MTB too. Would love to rip through some trails with a good crew.😁

It’s rough—but honestly, if you're into MTB, it's actually pretty great. I was out that way about 5 or 6 days ago. The pavement is basically non-existent in a lot of spots, so it's mostly just gravel now. It's still passable, though; the scenery is killer and the climb isn't too brutal. You'll have to dig deep and really grind through a bit of a steep stretch toward the end, but once you clear those 200 meters or so, you're golden. Mikleuška Lake is an awesome spot to hang out, fire up the grill, or just do a day trip—and hey, if you're feeling adventurous, you can definitely camp out there for a few days in the wild. Definitely recommend checking out that part of the Midwest.

Of course, you know me—you can count on me. 😍
Just let me know once you guys have a plan and a departure time—mostly just so I don't lose track of things. Feel free to shoot me a DM if that's easier. 😬

Well, I'm glad you guys are digging it. 😉

I put this whole section together myself since, frankly, I know this territory better than most. Feel free to tweak it, tear it apart, or add whatever you think is missing—do whatever you want with it. 🙂

If there's a plan to head out in August, count me in. 😉

Alright, sounds good. Have a blast in August, and I'll catch you guys in September—I'm sure we'll figure out a date that works. As far as I know, those hills in the Midwest (and I know them pretty well) are no joke, so I’ll probably be pushing my bike through some spots, but don't worry, I'll catch up to you 😁 😁 😁 I'm not exactly a mountain goat, but I'm trying to get my cardio up. If I start lagging behind, just leave me in a ditch 😂

Am I even allowed to hang out here with you guys? Not sure if there's a minor policy or something? :P
As far as trails go, I can handle just about anything—the only thing I can't stand is a massive descent. 😬
