Well, talk about an opening salvo. They say a single picture is worth a thousand words, but this one...
There are plenty of questions floating around. The big one? Are we actually going to see a seventh different winner this year? And if so, who’s the lucky candidate?
Or maybe the bigger question is: who will be the first driver to bag two wins in 2012?

Given how this season is going, I’m expecting seven different winners—specifically the guy with seven titles and those seven wins at the Grand Prix of Canada.

It should be interesting. Especially regarding the DRS. If there's any track where DRS makes sense, it’s definitely the Grand Prix of Canada.

BTW—Pat Fry mentioned back after Monza that the F2012 would arrive in the USA with a "new front wing, a new rear wing, and updated exhaust designs."
Let's see if they actually deliver.

I mean, look, I’ve got absolutely nothing against him taking the win. Honestly, I fully expect Fernando to squeeze every last bit of performance out of that car again, and besides, the way the points are being scattered among his main rivals is basically just handing him a bigger cushion in the championship standings.

The only thing you can count on with absolute certainty this season is that some trophy will screw over Michael Schumacher again. ☕

For God's sake, even Alesi wouldn't have to deal with six damn GP weekends like this.

Of course. 🙏 Who else is a Ford fan supposed to root for if not their own drivers? 👍

But I should probably tell you something else—and this might be the first time I’ve ever admitted it on this forum: as much as I always have my specific teams and drivers that I hold dear, I am, at my core, primarily a fan of the sport itself. Because of that, I would almost always rather see a great race (or a great season) where Ford (or even say, Sauber) performs poorly, than endure a mindless procession just so my favorites can win.

We really need to see how these new upgrades perform. If they actually click, Fernando might just have a shot at winning.
I suspect we'll see an exhaust setup similar to what they ran in Barcelona or Monaco during the race, while they spend the practice sessions experimenting with the newer versions.

Ferrari still lacks that raw single-lap pace, but their race consistency remains solid.

That said, seeing Fernando leading the standings is fantastic. It’s clear that Fry, Tombazis, and the rest of the crew are making steady progress. They aren't rushing things; instead, they're taking a methodical approach, ensuring every upgrade is thoroughly vetted, whether it's through wind tunnel testing or out on the track.
