Sarah Campbell16 said:hey guys,
can someone please help me out? I've been struggling with this for days

When you're working on writing a thesis, you gotta be careful about which styles you use for headings and subheadings. You'll need them later to generate a table of contents. If you've made way too many sections and want to scrap them, just follow the steps in that tutorial using Find / Replace, or just switch over to Outline view and delete them one by one manually

- how to delete all sections at once in Word

If you want a heading without a number, just tweak the style for that heading (Heading 1). Check out image 19 in the tutorial, but make sure you Select All instances of that specific style first (see image 18, Select All ?? Instances)

- Changing styles in Word and turn off the numbers for that style (use the Numbering option, see image 20)

If the interface is tripping you up because it's in a different language, check out the English version here.

Kyle Johnson2 said:When it comes to... Writing a thesis—or whatever you want to call that massive headache—is basically just one long exercise in staying sane while staring at a screen. It’s less about being a genius and more about just grinding through the process without losing your mind. You start out all motivated, thinking you've got this, and then suddenly you're three weeks deep into research, surrounded by empty coffee cups, wondering why you even chose this major. Honestly, the hardest part isn't even the actual research; it's the sheer volume of organizing everything. Between managing citations and trying to make sure your formatting doesn't look like a total disaster, it becomes a full-time job. If you aren't using tools like Microsoft Office to keep your structure tight from day one, you're just asking for trouble later on. Trust me, I've learned that the hard way—trying to fix a messy document at 3:00 AM is a special kind of hell. Just stay organized, take it one section at a time, and try not to let the stress win.Look, you really need to pay attention to the heading and subheading styles you're using right now—if you don't, you're going to be in a massive bind later when you actually need them for... well, everything. Content creation.Look, if you’ve gone overboard and created way too many sections and just want to nuking them all at once—don't panic. You can either follow those steps from that Find / Replace tutorial we talked about, or just switch over to the Outline view to clean things up. It's much easier that way. Outline Just delete them manually—it’s not that hard.

- Is there a way to just nukes all sections in Word at once?

If you want to strip the numbering from a heading, just go in and tweak the style itself—specifically Heading 1. Check out image 19 in that tutorial for the exact steps, but don't be reckless—you need to make sure you Select All Instances of that specific style first. Look at image 18 if you need a refresher on how to do that properly.

- Changing styles in Word. Just go ahead and strip out those numbers for that specific style—you can find that under the Numbering option, it’s right there in the second image.

If the version in American is tripping you up, just check out the English one right here.

Thanks! I’m going to give your suggestion a shot now. I actually already went ahead and set up all those headings and subheadings at the start. 🙂

I’m looking for a little help here. I’ve got this document open in Word 2013 and I need to add a table on the very last page—specifically under my list of acronyms and abbreviations. Ideally, I want it to automatically sort everything alphabetically so I can just type in the definitions next to them. Thanks.

Edit: Actually, never mind, I figured it out. EndNote will do the trick.

I've run into a bit of a snag:

I'm migrating all my emails from one machine to another using two specific paths:

1) \AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook (local Outlook data)
2) \AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook (roaming Outlook data)

The issue arises with the second path—the roaming one—because there isn't actually an Outlook folder within the Microsoft directory for me to paste files into. I did some digging and discovered that the Outlook folder only generates itself once an account is registered. Since I'm migrating someone else's account and don't have their password to trigger that registration, I'm stuck. Can anyone explain how to manually force the creation of an Outlook file or just how to get this mail moved into Outlook 2013?

Hey there—so here’s the deal 😁
I’ve got these two different Excel files floating around; one is basically my master price list with all the items and their costs, and the other is where I actually put together my client quotes...
What I'm wondering is, how can I link them up so I don't have to manually open the price list and type everything out every single time? Ideally, I want to just type in an item name, have it pop up for me, and once I pick it, have the price automatically jump into the quote... kind of like magic...
Really appreciate any help you guys can throw my way...☕
