I was just sitting here wondering if someone who’s basically healthy—mentally and physically, you know, nothing major going on there—could actually pass the medical exam for a Class C or C+E driver's license... even if they’re dealing with some vision issues. I mean, one eye is pretty much out of commission, and the other one is sitting at about 80% vision, plus the visual acuity is around 0.7 and the field of vision is roughly 130 degrees. They aren't colorblind or anything, but still... does anyone know if that's enough to clear the medical check for those categories?

http://www.mayoclinic.org/tests-procedures/eye-exam - "You qualify for a driver's license if your vision reaches at least 20/25 acuity and you have a normal visual field" - based on this, there's zero chance here. This person doesn't qualify because their vision hits only 70% in one eye (you explicitly said "visual acuity is 0.7") - 70%, plus the visual field isn't even normal, so no way.
