The HP 350 or 301 cartridges have pretty pathetic capacity, but honestly, they work great once you refill them—as long as you do it right after they run dry. PRO TIP: don't let them sit around for weeks before refilling.

It just stopped printing out of nowhere. First, it claims there's no yellow, then it says there's no magenta, and now it won't even engage the drum. Both colors are physically inside the machine, so I have no idea what's actually going on here..

You aren't going to find a repair shop for this thing for less than $167 + tax

I have two legacy printers at my office, an HP LaserJet 1005 series and a Xerox phaser 3100 MFP. I recently set up a new computer running Windows 7, but when I try to connect these two units, Windows can't find the drivers. I attempted to locate them myself, but I can only find versions for much older operating systems. Is there any way to resolve this without having to buy entirely new hardware?
By the way, Windows automatically recognized and downloaded the drivers for our new A3 printer without any issues.

I'm running into a massive headache with my Canon Pixma iP4200.
The drivers are all set up, everything looks totally fine on my end, but when it actually comes time to print—nothing. Zero. Zilch.

I'm using generic ink cartridges right now. All the colors look pretty faded, too—maybe that’s the culprit? If it is, why would that mess things up this badly, and how do I fix it?

Honestly, don't even bother wasting your time with an inkjet printer. It's just not worth the headache! If you grab a LaserJet for $233 or less, you're set because the toner lasts for thousands of pages—it’s easily your best bet.

New toner == 1500 pages == $150

Look, for about the same amount of cash, you can get 14,000 pages out of an HP LaserJet 1300.

Where'd you even get those numbers from? You can find tons of deals where they throw in an extra toner for free, making it roughly $233. And honestly, which specific toner are you using for the HP LaserJet 1300 that’s supposed to hit 14,000 pages?

If they're offering a free extra toner, it just means someone in marketing is definitely lurking on this thread, reading about the whole "printer plus 3 toners for 14,000 pages" thing and realizing how much it's actually stinging us.

Just be careful. It's the classic trap, kind of like how AT&T operates. They give you a few months of service for cheap, but once you hit that 14,000-page mark or pass the 24-month limit, they'll absolutely bleed you dry.
