First off—the visuals
I was really hoping they’d nail that gritty, high-contrast look like Sin City, you know? But instead, they just made everything way too dark and murky... honestly, wouldn't it have been so much better if they had just gone the route of a feature-length animated film?

And man, I just can't stand it when horror movies completely tank because the pacing is all messed up... for me, something like Saving Private Ryan still sets the bar way too high... plus, I am totally over those cheesy American vampire tropes—it was kind of cute at first, but now it's just getting old, isn't it?

I really can't stand it when a horror flick completely loses its momentum because the pacing is just totally off... for me, *Dog Soldiers* still sits at the very top of the list for great tension! And don't even get me started on those cliché American vampire movies—they were kind of charming at first, sure, but now they just feel incredibly repetitive and stale.

It feels like trying to translate Nielsen's specific drawing style into animation would be an absolute mountain to climb, but then again, if they managed to pull off something as visually unique and stylized as *A Scanner Darkly*, who am I to say it isn't possible? 🙂

Man, I used to be obsessed with comic books when I was a kid. If we're talking about 2004, that's basically two decades since I even picked one up... kind of a bummer, honestly.

That 30don is actually pretty solid..

The absolute best vampire flick out there, BUT—I’m really not a fan of vampires, so parts of it were so painfully slow I actually wanted to turn it off. Still, since I'd already started, I figured I might as well see it through to the end.

Seriously though, how did they even manage to survive thirty days with all those vampires running around? Like, actually...

The movie had potential, but honestly? It just left me feeling nothing. It was totally mid, neither good nor bad, just... meh.🤷.

I enjoyed the movie; it’s a blast if you're just looking for entertainment. For once, the vampires are actually repulsive instead of being some supermodel types.
The end was great too—it avoids that typical happy ending cliche.
