Does anyone know the major discussion boards (like Reddit or something similar) in English-speaking countries? Like the USA, the UK, Australia, etc.?

I tried searching on Google, but from what I can tell, sites like Reddit are among the most active platforms globally—which seems kind of wild to me. Or maybe I'm just overestimating things.

Basically, I'm looking for places where large groups actually hang out and post. I figured it might be one of the cheaper, more entertaining ways to work on my English writing skills.

I did stumble upon one, but it's pretty ridiculous—you have to wait about 30 days just to get access, and they're constantly begging for money to let you into the subforums where all the actual conversation happens.🤣

Well, considering how many people speak English globally, online forums aren't exactly bound by geography, if you catch my drift. It is far more productive to search based on specific interests rather than location. 🤷

Take a look at this one; it covers quite a bit of ground, though the focus remains primarily on music. Personally, I have mostly stumbled upon threads dedicated to internet anthologies 🙏. Honestly, regardless of where you find them or where you register, just try to avoid being pretentious. Don't feel the need to constantly emphasize that you're from some small nation near Italy, and please, stop apologizing for your English—which, in all honesty, is perfectly adequate for a forum like this once you realize it. Nobody cares about those excuses; they actually find it quite irritating. 😁

I was actually wondering about that myself—is there a specific US-based forum or something? 😁
I've been looking around, but I haven't come across anything yet :

Solid topic. I find myself scouring foreign forums looking for something with the same vibe as Reddit, but honestly? It’s been a losing battle so far... For now, I just signed up over at offtopic.com. Seems decent enough...😉

You'll likely end up learning worse English on niche forums than you would on international ones where standard English is actually used. Unless, of course, your primary interest is slang and abbreviations.

Come on guys, throw some links my way. casualwolf12 shared a decent forum, but that’s just one.

I figure you could definitely pick up a good amount of English there—I don't think they lean too hard into slang. Using Reddit as a comparison—you get all kinds of writers on certain subreddits, but on the more serious threads, the grammar and spelling are actually pretty solid. A foreigner might even be able to learn a thing or two from us. 😁

Here is a list of some of the biggest forums on the planet. Take a little look through them; I’m sure you’ll stumble upon something that catches your eye
.
And just so you know, Reddit is definitely included 🙂

I’m leaning toward this one: SkyscraperCity It’s actually a pretty interesting forum. You get a massive variety of stuff—lots of great photography from all over the globe—but you also find plenty of content centered right here in the States with our own local contributors.

Hopefully, I'm not breaking any rules by posting this...😕 since it's technically an international forum...
