Hey everyone.

Every single time I bend my elbow, there’s this audible popping sound. Honestly, I've been dealing with this for years now, but I never gave it a second thought because it didn't actually hurt, you know? But now that I've finally started getting serious about some strength training, any exercise involving elbow flexion triggers that clicking noise, so I've basically been avoiding those movements altogether. I'm trying to figure out if this is actually dangerous or if there's some way to prevent it from happening.

P.S. I played tennis for seven years, though it was just recreational stuff, nothing too intense.

So, basically, you're looking at osteoarthritis—that's just a fancy way of saying the cartilage in your joint is wearing down over time. In your case, it sounds like all that intense training you mentioned really took its toll on your body. Don't let it stop you from staying active, though! Just make sure you dial it back and keep things at a much more moderate pace. 🙂

Thanks for getting back to me, but if you don't mind, could you actually walk me through this in a bit more detail? I'm trying to wrap my head around whether this means things are just going to keep spiraling downhill over time. Is there even a way to actually heal from this, or am I just stuck? And honestly, is there any way I can still push myself with some heavier exercises without dealing with that constant tearing sensation?
