Hey there! πŸ˜‰

Been flipping through some local catalogs lately, checking out all those heavy-duty upgrades and gear... Most of it is just the usual high-performance, sporty stuff.
Honestly, I want to do something a little ridiculous with my bike. 😍
Heading out tomorrow to grab this

If you guys know any cool shops around the D.C. area that carry weird or wacky stuff, send links or addresses my way. Also, I'm totally open to any DIY ideas! 😍

Back in the day, they used to sell those little bubble blowers to kids that sounded just like a tiny sirenβ€”you know, with some mechanism spinning inside while you blew into it. Honestly, if I could get my hands on one of those things and crank it up to full volume, I’d make sure everyone knew exactly what kind of chaos was headed their way.

But I have no clue where to find one. 😒 Is there anyone actually selling them to kids these days?

Awww, I remember that. Honestly, you’d probably find that kind of nonsense with those old guys selling balloons and bubble wands near Central Park...

I honestly love those little LED lights you stick on the valves; they look great when the wheels are spinning.😁
The only downside is that they’re pretty much invisible during the day, and once night falls, πŸ™‚it makes me hesitant to even ride.πŸ™‚

There’s also that loud trumpet, like the number one pistol from Alan Ford, making its presence known πŸ™‚

All I’ve got is mud πŸ™‚

The bell is legendary. If I actually had the drive to install one, I would, but since I don't, I won't. I spend most of my time off the pavement, and all that gear would just be useless clutter

I’ll just cut out a yogurt cup and hang it from the frame with a paperclip, just to make sure it makes some noise...

I honestly have no clue what you mean or how you'd even pull that off. Why though? Send a photo. 😁

Classic... we all used to have those old cans on our bikes. Pure chaos.πŸ™‚

I used to have these neon-colored glow sticks shaped like little tubes attached to my BMX bikeβ€”you know, the kind you'd wrap around the spokes? I had hundreds of them. Pretty sure they were basically the retro version of those LED monkey lights people use now, haha.

Sarah Castillo74, where on earth did you find that????

I got my little bell-shaped coffee mug during Women's Day and it is seriously the cutest thing ever! 😍>
It’s tiny, gorgeous, and jingles when I move it.
Still hunting for more stuff though.
Send me some ideas.....

They’ve got those handlebar fans for sale at the local bike shop... the faster you go, the louder they get lol. I was thinking about picking one up. Might be fun to give some pedestrians a little scare. Around $6.75 😁

You might want to try searching online for a flower vase, just make sure you don't fill it all the way to the top with water!🀣

Oh man, that brings back memories! We all grew up with those old Bendix parts... what a ride! πŸ™‚

I was already using that audio accessory way before it even became trendy with the hipsters! 🧐 😬

I don't have a photo to show you, but here’s the instruction manual!
Ever tried a little DIY hack? Grab an empty yogurt container and cut out a strip about half an inch wide. Then, just use a clothespin to attach that strip to the chainstayβ€”right where it meets the rear axle. Once you start riding, the spokes will tap against the strip, creating this awesome little rhythmic clicking sound. Honestly, who doesn't love a bit of extra personality on their bike? πŸ‘‹

Back in the dayβ€”we're talking the 80s and early 90sβ€”you’d find all that stuff at local flea markets or roadside stands, just rows of cheap plastic toys and random junk. Personally, I never bothered assembling any of them. Why would I? It always seemed like such a chore!

I don't have a photo handy, but here’s the DIY manual:
take an empty yogurt cup and cut a strip out of the side, about 1.5cm wide. then, using a clothespin, attach that strip to the chainstayβ€”you know, the tube running from the crankset toward the rear axleβ€”so the strip sits right against the spokes. once you start moving, those spokes will rattle against the strip, and honestly, the sheer joy is unmatched. πŸ‘‹

... yeah, that's the one 😁 ... and imagine if you string a few strips together! You've got yourself a four-stroke engine hitting 12,000 RPM! πŸ‘‹

@brightranger43: please, child's play. 😬

Give me a break. Even if it’s technically against the rules, it might be worth a shot. Worst case scenario? You just enjoy the ride down from the hills near Washington, D.C. 🀷
