I was wondering if anyone knows if the tap water at the dorms here in Washington, D.C. (specifically the Stjepan Radić student housing area) is actually safe to drink? Like, straight from the faucet...

Some people have been telling me it isn't healthy, but they can never give me a real reason why, whereas to my eyes, the water looks perfectly clear and totally fine to drink 🙂. Of course, I know it’s probably not quite the same as drinking water straight from a well out in the countryside, but still...

Thanks!😁

The tap water in Washington, D.C. is perfectly safe to drink. Of course, that assumes your building's plumbing isn't a complete disaster zone...

Lately, the tap water I've been drinking has a distinct taste and smell😁. It tastes like disinfectant and minerals, and the smell is exactly the same

I mean, what on earth is that smell coming from the baking soda?

👍 You're absolutely right about that. One hundred percent.
