Hey there!

Can someone get back to me ASAP? My left testicle has been acting up for a few days now. It just flared up big time, and when I checked, I felt a lump right in the middle. It’s not actually on the testicle itself, but more like next to it, on that soft area... I can't even remember the name for it, and searching online just gives me a bunch of Latin terms that make no sense.

Help!

If someone could get back to me ASAP, I'd appreciate it. For the last few days, my left testicle has been aching, and right now it’s actually hurting pretty bad. I tried feeling around and found a lump right in the center. It isn't directly on the testicle itself, but just next to it, in that soft area—I can't remember the name for it, and all I can find online are these complicated Latin terms...

Help!

There's really no other option than to see a doctor immediately. Get a referral for a urologist so they can give you a proper exam.
Don't panic; a lump doesn't automatically mean cancer. In fact, most of the time, it isn't.

I dealt with a similar kind of pain back on New Year's Eve. I went to see a urologist, had an ultrasound done, and it turned out to be nothing more than a cold affecting my testicle. I also had some swelling in one of them at the time.
That’s why you shouldn't hesitate to get checked out by a specialist. Usually, tumors aren't painful.

Any time you notice a change in your testicles, you need to get in front of a urologist immediately. Don't sit on it. If the pain hits hard and fast, skip the appointment and head straight to the ER—you could be looking at an emergency situation that requires instant intervention.

So, I was checking things out again this morning. Turns out it’s not on the spermatic cord after all—it’s actually on the testicle. Right at the top... It feels a bit smaller than it did yesterday and isn't hurting like it was. I went to see my doctor, but he couldn't feel anything specific during the exam. He just gave me a referral for a urologist. Should I just hang tight until Monday, or should I try to get in tomorrow?

Tomorrow, only the ER will be open, but they aren't going to take you in because what you're describing isn't exactly a life-or-death emergency.
You'll just have to wait until Monday to get it handled.

If you're dealing with severe pain, they’ll admit you to the ER immediately. At that point, there's a real risk of testicular torsion, which is a medical emergency that can't wait.
