Scott Perez90 said:Can anyone give me some insight regarding PayPal and Venmo? I've been using PayPal for years without any issues—until about a month ago when my outgoing transactions started failing (I was trying to move funds to my foreign currency account). The payout ended up being delayed by ten days. Because of that, I ordered a Visa card that should have arrived two weeks ago... I sent them an email about ten days back, but haven't heard a peep. I'm wondering if others are running into trouble with PayPal lately—is this kind of delay and lack of customer support a sign that something is going wrong internally? Also, what’s the word on Venmo? How's their support and transaction speed? Might be worth switching everything over...

PayPal has had terrible customer service for years now... Honestly, the only way to actually get anything fixed is to call them... but I totally agree with you, that kind of attitude makes the company look bad and really kills any sense of trust.

On top of that, they've jacked up their transaction fees quite a bit... definitely thinking about giving Venmo a shot.

Regardless of whether you hold an AT&T status or anything of the sort, isn't the absolute best course of action simply to pick up the phone and give them a call? It truly won't cost you much at all, and wouldn't you agree that it saves you an incredible amount of precious time?

In my opinion, Venmo is the way to go. I’ve personally never run into any issues with them, even when moving significant amounts of money through my account. Transactions are consistently fast and secure, plus you get rewarded with points for your activity.
Their customer support is quite efficient, usually getting back to me within an hour or two. However, if you're an AT&T subscriber, you get access to live chat for much more immediate assistance.
I typically withdraw my funds in Austria using their card.

I don't really get these rules. They just set limits on me, and now they won't even let me play for peanuts.
At least they have some manners...

At least they maintain a level of decorum, I suppose...

I actually had a pretty ambitious request once, and I managed to get it sorted by calling them directly. They were actually really cool about it... though it sucks that you have to call just to get someone to pay attention to you.

I pulled some cash from PayPal this week and it hit my bank account in exactly three days.😉

I have a Bwin account with about $150 sitting in it. Anyone interested in buying it?

Why not just withdraw the cash instead of selling the account? 🤔

My card is frozen... I don't have Venmo

I'll let him have it for 800, or we could just play some poker and transfer it that way..

Just set up a PayPal account—or even better, Venmo—and you’ll be able to move those funds in a few days.

In my opinion, that's going to be a lot faster than trying to track down a buyer.

Don't I need a valid card again to get my funds transferred up there? Also, how long does it usually take for Bwin to send money over to Venmo?

One of your friends probably has Venmo or PayPal—give that a shot.

It usually takes about 2-3 days at most—but keep in mind, when you withdraw to Venmo or Neteller, they'll hit you with a 3% fee on whatever amount you're pulling out! Only PayPal is free. What’s your max bet on a single live game? And do you have one of those accounts capped at a $50 max win, or do you have higher limits?

I'm not sure what the exact limit is. I've never gone over $10 on DraftKings, and my account has been active for years. A friend uses PayPal, but from what I'm reading now, the amount you can withdraw via PayPal has to match what you actually deposited through them... the restrictions are just ridiculous, all just to stop you from taking your money out.

I was wondering, has the account actually been verified yet, and is everything strictly handled in US dollars or what exactly is the deal with the currency?

If you sent money to someone else via Venmo, maybe he could just wire the funds back to your bank account instead.
I haven't sorted out my Venmo situation yet since my card is still frozen, but I suppose I can still send funds to Las Vegas through Venmo because it just routes through a different card, I guess.

Does anyone actually know what profit margin means in this context? I’ve been looking through some of the top 100 sportsbooks, and it seems like only a handful are sitting below 3%, while most of them seem to hover somewhere between 3% and 9%. I guess it's hard to say for sure.

Well, it’s just the house edge, isn't it?
If I place a bet on the under and you place yours on the over—assuming we both put down the exact same amount, of course—then regardless of how the game actually plays out, the sportsbook walks away with that 3% margin, or whatever percentage they've set. Isn't that just the way the math always works out?

The profit margin essentially represents that gap when you're looking at a 50-50% match; sportsbooks simply won't offer you odds of 2.0 and 2.0, but instead, you might see something closer to 1.85 and 1.85 here in the States.

I thought it might be something along those lines, thanks for the clarification
