Hi everyone,
I imagine a lot of you might be looking to become a bit more active this year—whether that's physically or mentally. Maybe you want to build some stamina, get a little fitter, or just feel more focused and dialed in. If that sounds like you, why not join this group? Please share exactly what steps you're planning to take to actually make it happen.

As for me, I’m going to try to get at least six hours of sleep every night. :-) Eventually, I'll probably try to add some other habits too. I once read something on an American forum that really stuck with me. A woman posted that she was going to aim for a specific amount of sleep each day, remember three things from the morning news, and... well, I can't recall the third thing. But I liked the idea. 🙂

I know it might sound a bit silly to some, but for me, making sure I get those six hours of sleep every single night is going to take some real effort. I haven't quite decided on my goals for diet, exercise, or mental exercises yet. What about you guys? What are your plans? Please be specific! 🙂

As of last night, I’ve decided that while I’m online, my snacks are strictly limited to apples, walnuts, or herbal tea.

Furthermore, I am cutting my chocolate bar consumption by 50%.

I have also committed to increasing my relaxation time and outdoor exercise by 50%.

Since I get enough hours of sleep—even if the timing is erratic😲—I will attempt to stabilize my sleep schedule and avoid these constant fluctuations.

And yes, I’ve decided to be a bit more vocal about telling people exactly what they deserve to hear. After dealing with certain "toxic circles," my mental health is significantly better for it.

Finally, I am reducing my contributions to my husband’s cigarette fund by 50%.
If he wants to smoke more, he can simply earn more. Simple logic, isn't it?

That is all from me.

On my rest days, I make it a point not to just shovel everything in sight down my throat.

Joining this group. Every year I make these promises to be kinder to myself, and every year I fail. Now I'm just sitting here waiting to hear what you all suggest. That idea about memorizing three news stories from the daily paper? Seems like a solid start.

I’m going to try giving up alcohol during Lent and Ramadan this year 😁 I’m not religious, but I figured there’s no harm in doing something good for my health 🤷😁

Alex Cook27 said:I’m asking for specifics. What exactly is the plan to make this happen? No more vague promises.

By July 1st, 2010, I'll finally post a photo of myself here.

As for next week? I'm starting some intense, high-octane training sessions. Total beast mode. 😁

Hey everyone, just joined the club!
I really want to get myself back in shape—both mentally and physically. I haven't quite figured out the best way to go about it yet, but I know I’m ready to commit.
Currently sitting at 28 years old, 5'6", and 180 lbs.
I'll post a photo of where I'm starting from in a few days, then it's game on.
That's all for now. Sorry I'm a little late to the party, but wishing you all an awesome 2011!

Count me in. I'm on board.

The plan:
1. Cut out the booze, soda, and sugary juices—sticking to water and tea (hot or iced) instead.
2. Diet breakdown: chicken makes up about 90%, other meats at 5%, and tuna at 5%.
- Veggies and fruit should be around 70%, rice at 20%, with everything else being baked goods, potatoes, maybe some dough, and chocolate (on purpose).
3. No cookies, chips, bread in general, candy... you name it.

4. Shake up the workout routine and try something different.

Goal: See if I can actually pull this off and what kind of results I get.
Timeline: TBD.

Standing 6'0", weighing 176 lbs.

Cheers and good luck to everyone.
