Here’s a perfect example of why I feel that way... look at that thread from Saturday where the very first post included a link about holiday hours for the local branches... right there in that thread, on page one, post number 24 is someone asking how long the lottery stores are open. Here is a specific reason why I feel that way... look at the thread from Saturday where the first post included a link about holiday hours for branch locations. In that exact thread, on the very first page, post number 24 is someone asking how long the lottery branches stay open. What am I even supposed to say to that? 🤷

Well, if some people have their settings set to 20 posts per page, maybe they wouldn't even see it 🤷

Only one person asked, even though that doesn't really have much to do with my point because one normal question isn't a huge deal, so don't drag out this entire pointless debate and fight over nothing and don't mess up the clarity of the daily thread, even if it puts a bit more pressure on you moderators since you've mentioned this a hundred times already 😍

That's why I'd suggest just putting links and rules in the sticky threads, but that's probably going too far in the other direction.

Anyway, I think we should at least try this because we have nothing to lose, and also, we should emphasize the last part of this post:

Why did they wipe my tickets? One was from the daily thread, and then some guy crashed another one mid-way through. 😕

Besides, isn't that rule specifically for online bets? My tickets are paid for at a physical branch, which is clearly shown in the image.

Fine. Just explain the logic here. What's the point of that rule if my image clearly shows the bet was processed, even without those first three digits? If there's blatant proof the ticket is legit, why are you obsessing over those three numbers? Isn't it easier to just admit you missed that it was already marked as "paid" at the betting shop, rather than clinging to some nonsensical rule?

Look, I don't even care about the tickets. Both are losers and I have nothing to brag about; I only posted them because I'm frustrated over missing big parlays by a hair. But I really don't get your logic—if it's obvious the ticket was paid, why act like you didn't see it at first glance?

That’s why the idea several people have already brought up makes total sense: bring back a dedicated vent thread and just moderate posts that cross the line. That way, the other topics stay clean and actually worth reading.

I agree with most of what you're saying, but Nicholas Chase34 and I already decided we aren't opening a vent thread right now.

It’s honestly because of the garbage some people were posting. Deleting or banning those posts isn't a perfect fix. I just looked through the last couple of pages (including the deleted ones), and for some of that stuff, I wouldn't just ban them—I'd call the cops. There was swearing, hate speech, the whole nine yards... some people really don't know where to draw the line.

I was actually the one who originally pushed for a thread like that, but it completely spiraled away from the purpose stated in the intro.
