Hey everyone π
A friend of mine is starting his freshman yearβneeds a laptop that won't die while he's trying to scrape through his engineering courses at MIT π
As far as where to buy goes, online or at a local Best Buy, doesn't matterβjust needs to be able to grab a receipt for tax purposes.
1. 15.6" is the sweet spot.
2. Standard resolution is fine.
3. Screen quality isn't a huge deal.
4. Engineering stuffβbasically, it needs to run AutoCAD and SolidWorks smoothly, plus handle some casual gaming (think NBA 2K, Madden, or a shooter)βnothing crazy like the latest AAA titles.
5. Doesn't need an OS pre-installed.
6. No specific brand preference.
7. Budget is up to $4 $0.00 (though if itβs about $50 more to jump to a better model, he can swing it).
8. Warranty mattersβthe longer, the better.
9. He mentioned wanting plenty of storage to keep all his projects and a few games on the drive.
Thanks in advance for any tips or suggestions π
