Honestly, Movie Maker is just the easiest way to go!
- Just fire up the program, head over to
Tools > Options > Advanced. Set your settings—set the
video format to NTSC, then pick
Aspect Ratio 16:9 or maybe
4:3 and hit
OKBoom, you've got your foundation set. Now, jump back into the main screen, grab your photo, and drag it right into the
Collection area—do the exact same thing with your song.
Now both your picture and your track are sitting right there in Movie Maker.
Just drag that photo onto the
Track Line (Video), and pull your music down onto the
Track Line (Audio). And just like that, your visuals and audio are lined up on the Track Line.
Stretch that image out to match the whole length of the song, or hey, throw in a few more photos if you want—just play around with it!
Alright, you've got a video! Hit play on the bottom right to see how it's looking.
Once everything looks perfect, go to
File >
Save movie file and pick where you want to save this masterpiece. You can click
My Computer >
Next > type in a title, choose your folder, click
Next > then
select Best quality for playback >
NextAnd that’s it! Once it finishes saving, check it in a video player and upload it to YouTube.
There are tons of other cool stuff you can do too, like adding subtitles or some fun filters, but you can figure that part out as you go. Movie Maker is seriously awesome for beginners—once you get the hang of how editing works, everything else becomes a breeze.
Here’s one I actually made myself using photos in Movie Maker. It’s pretty old school, but hey, it was my first real attempt!
