I was watching some old highlights the other day and it got me thinking about how much the "one-club man" concept has basically died out. It feels like every time a player hits a certain level of talent, there's a massive bidding war happening behind the scenes.
It’s hard to blame the players, honestly. If you’re at the top of your game, why wouldn't you look at what else is out there? The money and the chance to prove yourself elsewhere is huge. But at the same time, there’s something almost poetic about a player staying put and building a legacy with one squad. It feels like we're moving into an era where players are more like free agents in waiting, regardless of how much they seem to love their current colors.
Do you think players actually stay because of loyalty, or is it just about the best possible leverage for their next contract?
