So here’s the breakdown on why Webber and Vettel’s first stops took forever and how they ended up tanking down to 15th.😢

Unfortunately Mark whacked The front Jack man, damaging his front wing and the jack which then had to be replaced. That cost him time and ultimately Seb time at the first pitstop.

Wait, what even is a "front jack man"? Did he seriously run over one of the mechanics? 😲
I completely missed that during the broadcast. 🤷

Jack was essentially acting like a forklift, which means he slammed right into the front mechanic who was lifting the car. You couldn't even see it clearly because there was no footage of it.

Here are a few interesting statistics for you all to chew on 🙂

Race:

- Looking at the history of the F1 US Grand Prix, it actually ranks eleventh for the most overtakes (and holds the top spot from the last two decades). The only Grand Prix with more than 50 overtakes was the US Grand Prix, which saw 52

- At this US Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton holds the record for the most overtakes (10), followed by Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa (8). Heikki Kovalainen has been overtaken the most often (15), while Michael Schumacher was the victim eight times
- Interestingly, in three out of the four races held this year, we've seen a 1-2 finish for a single team, and it’s been a different team every single time
- This marks the first McLaren 1-2 since the 2007 Italian Grand Prix
- It is also the first British 1-2 since the 1999 Australian Grand Prix (featuring Michael Irvin and David Coulthard)
- The US Grand Prix has been a wet one in four out of the last five times it was held
- Jenson Button has now become the seventh different winner of the US Grand Prix out of the seven times it has been hosted in Shanghai
- McLaren secured the fastest lap of the race for the first time since the 2008 Chinese Grand Prix
- Nico Rosberg achieved back-to-back podiums for the first time in his career
- Vitaly Petrov scored his very first career points
- For the first time since the 2008 Chinese Grand Prix - Red Bull, Renault has managed to get both cars into the points
- For the first time in the last six races, Red Bull wasn't leading the Grand Prix from the start (even though they took pole, Fernando Alonso got a better jump off the line, meaning Red Bull didn't lead for even a second)
- Felipe Massa's finishing positions have steadily declined in every race this season (2, 3, 7, 9)
- So far this season, Sauber has completed only a quarter of the total race distance, and Kamui Kobayashi has managed less than a tenth
- This is only the second time in history that Mercedes has achieved a 1-3 finish. The first and only time prior to this was the 1955 British Grand Prix (Stirling Moss, Juan Manuel Fangio, and Hans Herrmann)

Qualifying:

- Red Bull has secured their fourth consecutive pole position this year. The last time someone pulled that off was the 2007 Ferrari squad during their championship-winning run
- Jenson Button has qualified ahead of Lewis Hamilton for the third race in a row. The last time Hamilton experienced such a streak was last year, spanning from the Monaco Grand Prix to the British Grand Prix


British Grand Prix small hint for the championship:

- Seven out of the 24 drivers qualified in the exact same positions for the US Grand Prix, Australia, and Bahrain
- The same group of 10 drivers made it into Q3 for both the US Grand Prix and Bahrain
