Hey there!

Ever since the weather turned cold and long sleeves became the norm, my elbows have been acting up—super dry and cracking. It’s definitely not psoriasis or anything, but even after slathering on various lotions, that dryness just won't budge. The skin gets this fine, flaky texture.

Funny enough, once summer hits and everyone's heading to the beach, it seems to clear right up.

I was wondering if anyone might know of a good fix? Maybe some kind of natural remedy or a specific cream that actually works.

Thanks

How can you be sure it isn't psoriasis?
I happen to know about a really effective ointment that has provided relief for quite a few people (it has even worked for certain types of psoriasis), though I’ll refrain from mentioning the specific brand here just so nobody accuses me of trying to push some random product on you. If you're interested, I would be more than happy to send over all the details via private message.

Psoriasis? Honestly, I don't think so. Most people just deal with super dry skin once winter hits, especially around the elbows. It’s totally normal.
I get the exact same thing—my skin gets so flaky during the colder months. Even my thighs feel like sandpaper sometimes. It's just what happens when it's freezing outside and we spend all our time huddling near heaters and dry indoor air. That's why everyone starts putting those little humidifiers on their radiators.
I also tend to shower two or three times a day. Look, I know I’m a bit much—I’m a total germaphobe and I swear I see bacteria everywhere 😁—but all that extra washing just strips the moisture right out of my skin, making everything feel even drier. My best advice? Just stay on top of your lotions and creams. Seriously, make sure you rub in some moisturizer, lotion, or whatever you use immediately after every single shower. 😉
Just feed your skin some hydration and you'll be fine. 😉

gentlebison0, I don't think it's psoriasis. The symptoms just don't line up, and a friend of mine—who isn't a dermatologist, mind you—told me the same thing.
Could you please DM me the name of that cream? Thanks.
