There are plenty of cheap cameras out there that shoot in Full HD nowadays. Maybe something from Toshiba Amillo or similar. We could just have someone set one up for him. Even if everything goes south, a memory card should be tough enough to survive a crash. Think of it as a "black box"—only this one would actually be black. That way, if we have to locate the "vehicle" after the worst happens, we’ll at least have a record of what happened and how. At least then he can say he died for science.
If he ends up in pieces... well, fine. For all that effort and the constant fear, he might as well get to keep the "black box."
