We were front row at the Nickelback show in Munich and ended up with two extra tickets on our hands, but they told us that ticket resales are strictly monitored over there... so now I'm stuck wondering if we should just take the risk and buy a ticket online right now, or wait until it's closer to the date and see what turns up on the local classified ads?

Carol Wells2 said:Does anyone know... is there any chance we can just buy tickets on-site, or is it a waste of gas to even head out there without them? I'm asking because my husband and I really want to go, but because of the kids, we won't know for sure until the very last minute. I don't want us to get our hopes up if that isn't an option...
Thanks!

Back in 2005, I actually called to ask if I could reserve tickets because I was panicking about driving all that way for nothing. They told me it wasn't necessary since the festival is so massive that they always have tickets available. We showed up on the afternoon of the first day and grabbed them without any trouble. But then again, last year the festival website said it was Sold out 3 weeks before the show! I guess it's probably better to just call and ask!

But last year? The festival website said Sold out three weeks before the show! Seriously, just call and ask. It's worth it.

👍
Thanks, I'll give them a ring... I'm dying to go, mostly just for Rammstein. Honestly, I feel like I'm still living in a parallel universe after their last set. My husband and I already have tickets for the Madison Square Garden concert for Metallica, so besides all the extra stuff—the crew, the parties, whatever—it's really just those guys I'm looking forward to.😵

Roughly how much am I looking at for the whole trip? I mean tickets, transportation, food, drinks... though if I live like a total bum and just bring my own snacks and a flask of whiskey xD
Asking for next year.

Tickets are sitting at about $180 right now, and honestly, we haven't even touched on travel plans yet. We need to see how many people are actually pulling the trigger before we can coordinate anything, right? As for food and drinks, we're obviously just going to pack our own stuff from home...

You’ve managed to stir up quite a bit of resentment from the majority.😢😢

I would have done the same thing.😢

I'm heading to Chicago to sell my soul! 😬

That's the issue right there: the recession.🤣😁

Look, we’re all feeling the squeeze of this recession, and I’m certainly not exactly rolling in cash myself, but let's be real—this year's lineup is absolutely insane and you just can't afford to miss it....😁

It is about time someone in America finally started a thread for this! Much appreciated😁 I was planning on heading there myself this year, but with the current recession, it just isn't in the budget 👎 I attended back in 2008 and I can honestly say it was the most incredible festival experience I have ever had... It is truly worth every single dollar, so if anyone has the opportunity to go, please don't think twice about it. Regarding the drinks, I suspect buying supplies locally and trying to bring them in won't do much good, since once you enter the main concert grounds, nothing is allowed inside, and by the time you arrive at noon, you'll be staying through midnight... and then the after-parties begin. Alcohol is pricey, food is just as expensive, and you won't find any basic bottled water within a 3.1 miles mile radius. 😲 You likely won't spend much time hanging out in the campgrounds, but if you do decide to bring your own drinks, please ensure they aren't in glass containers, because they won't let you into the camp with those... they are incredibly strict about those kinds of things. Well, I hope this helps someone out... who knows, maybe something will change and I'll end up going this year too😍

I had my whole summer planned around Lollapalooza, but looking at this lineup... man, I'm tempted. Especially The Rolling Stones. Hmm. This is going to be a tough call.

These are basically two sibling festivals with the exact same lineup. It’s really just one big festival held in two different spots. Lollapalooza is just on a larger grounds. The only difference is the set times, since obviously, no artist can physically be in two places at once. So, it's pretty much all the same to me! 🤣

I get that, but I end up spending a ton of time in Germany anyway since my brother lives there... plus the beach spots are killer. Money isn't even an issue for him, so why wouldn't I go have some fun? Once, maybe twice... and getting to do it with my brother? Sounds perfect to me. 😍

I get that. It's just that both festivals are at the exact same time. You can't be in Nuremberg and at the Nürburgring at once. Maybe your brother would be sweet enough to pay for you to go to Glastonbury or something... 😁
Anyway, I'm seriously jealous. Rock am Ring is basically the best festival in the universe!👍

Yeah, well, that's the one thing that really sucks... but man, my brother is awesome. Unlike most people, we actually have a solid connection—probably because he raised me right since our parents were always working their hearts out. 😍
