I want to design a header for a Word doc. What’s the best way to go about this? Here's the plan:
I want a logo in the left corner, then a few lines of text right next to it. The problem is when I work in Word and move the file to another computer, the formatting breaks if they don't have my specific fonts. So, I'd rather just make the whole header an image, but I want it to look polished. Not just plain text—I want some style, maybe a metallic effect or a bit of a 3D embossed look on part of the text... something fancy.
Does anyone have a good tutorial for this?
I tried messing around in Microsoft or Adobe Photoshop, but since I'm a total newbie with those, I couldn't get it to look right.

If I remember correctly, back in Word 2003 you just went to View > Header and Footer and you could do whatever you wanted. With Microsoft Office 2007, you should be able to just double-click the header or footer area to get into that same editing mode.

I get what you're saying, but that's not quite what I mean. Like I said before, I just want to polish it up so it actually looks like a professional print job.
