GermanyFor the first time in forever, the Germans are showing up to a tournament without much of a shot at grabbing hardware. Honestly? A lot of people aren't even mad about it. Their last big win came under some pretty shady circumstances during that last World Championship when they were playing on home turf, so seeing them out of the spotlight feels right to most fans. They did start throwing a bunch of young talent into the mix at the last Worlds—some of these kids are legit—but man, the injury bug is hitting them hard. Missing their starting pivot is a massive blow. PriceFirst one to fire. HensYeah, second shooter. Glandorf He’s not exactly match-ready yet—missed those last three preseason games—and honestly, neither is the starting keeper. BitterThey mostly just lost during the preseason. Iceland beat them twice thanks to sheer experience, and they were struggling against Austria, too. Honestly, in this state, getting any kind of real result is going to be a massive uphill battle. Arrhenius He’s coming out of Aragon, and honestly, he's been on fire lately. He put up seven against Norway and then dropped six on Portugal in those recent friendlies. He's definitely going to have the edge. Gustafsson The guys from Aalborg pulled off the same number of goals at the Socialist Party meet. They've got their star player holding things down on the left wing. Kallman As for him, he wasn't exactly making waves during training. Honestly, he spent most of his time just grinding through it like a typical 26-year-old. Petersen He's from Svendborg, and now he’s suddenly the guy everyone's talking about. It's the same story on the right wing, too. He was the first pick out of the Socialist Party. Lennartsson Aalborg isn't the top pick anymore. Now we've got this 21-year-old in the mix. Ekberg There's a guy from Ystad who's actually one of the top scorers in training right now. They’ve got a massive hole at left wing, and honestly, this 29-year-old is probably their only real shot at fixing it. Karlsson Some guy from Kolding who was basically a ghost during the Socialist Party tournament. They’re definitely going to have to patch that hole with some mid-range shooters, since they've got a few of those on hand. First pick is definitely an experienced vet. Doder Ademar's been good, but this 25-year-old kid just completely took over during training. Larsson From Aragon. On the right side, they're covered with some top-tier stuff. During training, they mostly went up against some pretty weak squads—the only real challenge was playing against those tough Norwegian teams, where they managed one win and one loss.

USAAfter getting knocked out in the first round at the last World Cup, the Americans decided they needed a shake-up. So, Rocasa, Canellas, Ruesge, and Andreua are out, making room for some new blood. Hombrados gets a massive boost in goal thanks to a naturalized Sterbik, and instead of grinding away with the average Garabaya at pivot, they’ve brought in 27-year-old Aguinagalde from City. They still have the seasoned veteran Juanin Garcia from Barca on the left wing, though he'll definitely be splitting minutes with his teammate who's ten years younger, Ugalde.
