If they actually get moving on a new record now, most of it could be wrapped up by summer. That means we might see a promo tour hitting all those big summer festivals, and if luck is on my side, maybe they’ll even swing through our neck of the woods. But hey, what am I doing? Just daydreaming again. 😉

I don't know, man, on my first spin through this, I wasn't really feeling it. It kicks off sounding like some lost Led Zeppelin record, which was a nice touch, but my gut feeling right now is that there’s nothing groundbreaking here—it feels like everyone involved has already done much better work before, and this just isn't different enough to actually blow anyone away, though I guess it's fine if you're into that sort of thing...

Whoa, now that’s a heavy accusation. Honestly, those early YouTube clips had me thinking they were leaning into a garage rock vibe—but clearly, I was off base there. I wouldn't call myself a huge Jack White fan or anything, but I've listened to enough to know I just can't see it your way.👎

I honestly figured this album was going to be total garbage the second I heard Dave Grohl was involved. But clearly, Man and Sir John Paul Jones made sure to dial back that slimy guy's influence to basically zero.

Look, don't go there. I'm not exactly a huge fan of Dave Grohl either, but you can't really fault him when it comes to drumming. Just look at an album like Songs for the Deaf—it's a masterpiece, and he absolutely killed it on those tracks 😉

Oh, please. As long as Dave Grohl is behind the kit, you're golden. Speaking as a drummer—everything I've heard from him, from Nirvana to Songs for the Deaf, plus those guest spots with NIN and Prodigy—is top-tier. But put him on guitar with the Foo Fighters? Terrible. They are massively overrated; just a mediocre band at best.

I couldn't agree more. When I first heard those initial recordings, I noticed they were leaning quite heavily into that White Stripes vibe. It’s common knowledge that Josh has immense respect for Jack White, but they don't exactly sound like a carbon copy. While there are definitely certain sonic similarities, Josh has ultimately pulled his style closer to the TCV sound. Besides, let's be honest—the Stripes have always been heavily influenced by Led Zeppelin anyway; they're essentially a modern take on that classic formula.

Leave Dave Grohl alone🙂 🙂.

Look, I get it, what I said about White was a pretty heavy accusation, which is why I played it safe with a question mark. I know Man is a serious guy, and honestly, his tracks hit different for me than White's do. But White is just White. If nobody, not even Man, can outdo him at being himself, then maybe they shouldn't even bother trying. At least not Man.

Plus, like I said, I haven't even dug through their whole catalog yet.

You've got a point there... I can't argue with his track record behind the kit, honestly. Not even close. But going from something as legendary as Nirvana straight into some kung fu trash band? I guess I'm giving them a shot because they're technically a "supergroup," like the first post said. Personally, I don't really care about "great" music since I'm pretty much a degenerate who gravitates toward garbage. But anyway, I stepped out of my apartment today to hit up Starbucks, and I switched that album over to MP3 on my phone. I was thinking there was no way it would work, but I didn't have the time to convert it. So, I'm walking down the street, scrolling through my player trying to find the album, and it’s not there because my player won't read the damn FLAC file. I realized then that I wasn't going to be listening to anything, and I actually felt disappointed.

That doesn't happen to me often. I don't know, they're interesting—they have some dumb stuff, but I've heard enough good tracks that I want to hear them again. So, I listen to them. Or maybe I've just become a total wimp and everything sounds good to me now.
