Not sure if anyone here actually plays this yet—I just picked it up recently and it seems awesome, though I haven’t had much time on the court to really test it out. It’s basically a mix of badminton and squash; lots of running, pretty aggressive, and you don't even need a specific court or anything...

Anyone playing?
If not, would you be down to try it?😬

Yeah 😬

But let's wait until fall. Until then, you should probably check in with someone to see if it's actually worth it. I don't want to show up to something for no reason, you know? 😁

I mean, let's aim for the fall. Until then, maybe find someone decent to practice with? I don't want to show up to the meetup looking like a total amateur. 😁

I'll probably wait until autumn too.🙂
Word on the street is it's awesome. All I know for sure is they play right here in my small town.🙂

Yo, I spotted a full speedminton set for sale over at Walmart. But I was moving way too fast so I can't tell if I saw two different types of birdies? Like, they look kinda like badminton ones but with rubber tips 😁—sort of like a bouncy ball—mixed with half-tennis balls or something?! 🤷

Honestly, once you mix badminton and squash together, the whole thing just clicks.
The real question is whether anyone’s actually going to show up? I mean, half the guys at the local YMCA have been out of shape since our last badminton tournament, so where are they going to find the energy for this? 😬

I'm gonna go hop on YouTube for a bit to see what this is all about...

I was checking out YouTube😁

And yeah, I definitely want to give that a shot. The balls feel a bit like shuttlecocks, just heavier.

Total brain fart on my part—I posted the link on Facebook but totally forgot to drop it here.😁

Yeah, Blackminton absolutely kills it.😁

Remember those prices? On the site, they’re listed around 300 bucks...$133.

So, did you actually figure out where this is being played? I mean, sure, it’s cool that it can happen ANYWHERE, but my old man and the rest of the grumpy crowd over here really need some actual info.😁😁😁

And did you even catch where this is played? Like, sure, being able to play ANYWHERE is cool, but us old grouches actually need some details!😁😁😁

When I checked, there was a sale going on so it was only $279.99. 🤷

As for playing, I guess any flat field works. Gotta watch out for these old bones, though! 😳

I was wondering if anyone here actually plays table tennis—and more importantly, how did you all get started? Are there any decent clubs or community centers around that offer decent facilities to play at?
thanks

I'm wondering where I can pick up some speedminton gear in New York City and what kind of prices I should expect. I'm not based in NYC, so I can't easily check the local shops, and there isn't anything available in my neck of the woods.

I’m starting this thread because I have a genuine interest in giving this sport a shot. Is it actually viable to play using squash rackets? Also, is anyone out there selling any used gear? I’d much rather test the waters before dropping cash on brand-new equipment, just in case I realize the game isn't for me.
