I'm not sure what you mean about there being no doctor on a Sunday; there should always be an on-call physician available. By the way, my dad went through something similar—he acted like he was slightly drunk, even though he never drinks. We called 911 immediately, even though he insisted he was fine, despite being completely sluggish. It turned out to be a stroke. He recovered quite well, though he spent a decent amount of time in the hospital and later did some rehab at a wellness center.

Yeah, there are no doctors on duty because it’s Sunday, and Dad’s stuck in the hospital without anyone available to actually pull his test results... we won't know what's really going on until tomorrow for sure. And look, people act like he’s a toddler, but he isn't—I can't exactly pick him up by his arms and legs and carry him out of the building myself, so let's be real... I don't know how things work in other places, but the medical situation here is just on a whole different level; even living in a smaller town with just a tiny local clinic means every major hospital is at least a two-hour drive away, so it's hard to explain, but right now, I just need my dad to be okay and nothing else matters!

1. I fail to understand how you can be constantly active on a forum during such a delicate situation. Who in their right mind spends the middle of the night seeking help on an internet forum when facing a genuine emergency???

2. You say your father isn't a child, but he clearly isn't in a state to decide whether he needs to go to the hospital or not, which means his family—meaning you—makes those decisions legally.

3. Beyond that, there is both a moral and legal obligation for any person to call 911 if someone else is in a life-threatening condition.

4. You claim you're in a small town with just a little clinic. How then is it that "appropriate" doctors—like neurologists or radiologists—will magically be available tomorrow? Or does your dad happen to be close friends with Eric Adams, so they'll assemble a whole medical board just for him? Also, who exactly is staying overnight in a local clinic?

5. If you are far from a major hospital, transport is handled via ambulance or even a medevac helicopter, whether it’s a two-hour drive or a ten-hour one.
