Best rock songs to dance to?

Basically, I'm looking for some danceable rock tracks from bands or artists that have come up in the last ten years or so.

What do you guys think works for dancing? I'll give every single one a listen. 😁

Well, I think it really just comes down to how you define rock versus dance music—plus, it’s definitely song-dependent—but it's definitely not true that you can't shake a leg to some rock.

Maybe give these bands a shot too (if the rhythm isn't hitting, at least the music might): Calexico, Arcade Fire, Bloc party, Killers, MGMT, vampir Weekend, White Stripes, and for some classics—Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Violent Femmes, Clash, Steely dan... oh man, I'm getting tired just listing them, and you probably know most of them anyway 😛 oh, right, I almost forgot the legends like Springsteen, Jerry Lee Lewis, and folks like that. They certainly count as rock if you consider bands like The Beach Boys part of the genre.😂

Honestly, stuff like Cribsi, Wombatsi, The View, and Los Campesinos—it’s all just catchy filler to me. You know it’s not exactly high art and probably wouldn't bother downloading it to your iPhone, but if you're just hanging out outside or looking for something to dance to? It hits the spot.

Sure, it’s catchy enough to dance to. But honestly, this whole era of American rock is way too overrated. Personally, I don't consider it high-quality rock at all—not in terms of innovation, musicality, or any other metric (unless you're just counting how many people can headbang to it).
