slypilot16 said:It’s interesting how everyone reacts differently. For me, my libido shot up so high I honestly don't know what to do with myself anymore. I've been on Loestrin birth control for about three years now, and it feels like every two minutes I'm thinking about sex or getting turned on. :/ I’ve become so obsessed with it that I can't even imagine life without being on the pill. 😢

For me, Loestrin actually had the exact opposite effect—my libido just dropped to zero. It was a total disaster. Even Yasmin didn't seem to help much on that front, so eventually, I just gave up on the pill altogether, and honestly? It felt like I was reborn. 😍

I actually went through the exact same thing when I was on Yasmin👎 you really ought to talk to your gynecologist. See if they can suggest an alternative, maybe a patch or even an injection.

Personally, I decided to ditch the pills altogether and switched to more natural methods 😁

Ever since I started seeing Yasmin, my libido has spiked so much that my boyfriend actually calls me a nymphomaniac (check out the comment under 🙄's name). It’s a complete 180 from my previous relationship, where I was basically completely unresponsive 🤣. I'm honestly not sure if this shift is due to my new partner or just side effects from my medication, but we'll find out soon enough since I'm starting on Cilest next week 🙂. If my sex drive suddenly tanks, I might actually lose it 😢 because I've finally figured out how to truly enjoy sex 😢

If you’ve only just started taking Yasmin, you probably haven't noticed a dip in your drive yet. Of course, every woman reacts differently to hormones, so there's always a chance your body might handle it a bit uniquely... but if I had to place a bet, I’d say that new guy in your life is the real reason your libido is hitting a high note right now. 🙂There really is nothing quite like great sex to keep things interesting. 🙏😍

I’ve tried everything from Yaz to Loestrin to Diana 😁 and honestly, my libido just vanished every single time. I had zero drive.
I quit birth control ages ago for several reasons, but this was definitely one of them. 😁

Actually, no—I've been on them for a year now. I posted about this on another thread; they absolutely wreck my head and make me feel terrible, which is why I'm switching over to Cilest. But the libido... wow. 😁 🤣

With my last guy, I was basically a stone... totally frigid 🤣. Now, I can't tell if it's just this new guy or if it’s the pills, I guess we'll find out soon enough since I'm starting Cilest next week 🙂. If my drive drops, I might actually lose it 😢 because I finally figured out how to actually enjoy sex 😢...

I'm in the same boat. My libido shot up too—though maybe I'm just imagining things because I'm actually enjoying sex more lately. And honestly? It's mostly because I don't have to worry about getting pregnant.
And maybe the meds are playing a part too... the packaging mentions it could either boost or tank your libido, so I guess it all depends on how lucky you get 🤣...

It seems I’m facing many of the same struggles that most of you seem to be dealing with lately.🙂
To be honest, I used Yasmin for years and it always felt absolutely perfect for me.😍However, after my most recent break, I decided to switch over to Loestrin just because it was more budget-friendly. That turned out to be a total nightmare; I felt constantly irritable, and my libido completely vanished.😢
Eventually, I tried returning to my reliable old Yasmin, but unfortunately, those same frustrating symptoms followed me right over from the Loestrin.😢The hardest part to wrap my head around is that Yasmin worked so beautifully for so long, yet now, suddenly, it feels like it does nothing at all.🤷
So, I took another two-month break—during which my libido managed to recover somewhat—😁and my gynecologist prescribed Triquilar. Everyone seems to rave about how great it is, so I gave it a shot... but once again, I’m dealing with the exact same issues with my sex drive.🙂

I truly can’t understand why every single pill I’ve tried this year has had such a negative impact on me. Has anyone else gone through something similar? I would deeply appreciate any advice or shared experiences you might have.😕 😕

Triquilar? Why'd they put you on such heavy-duty pills? Aren't those supposed to be the three-phase ones?
I’m switching over to Diana soon—honestly hoping my libido just hits rock bottom because I can't deal with being this turned on all the time. It's actually exhausting. 😢

Carol Scott98 As specified by:
I find myself facing a predicament remarkably similar to the one most of you seem to be grappling with. 🙂
To be honest, I spent years using Yasmin, and it was absolutely flawless. 😍 No, following that recent hiatus, I have decided to switch over to Logest, primarily because of the cost. Honestly, my previous medication was driving me to the brink; I was constantly on edge, and my libido had dropped well below zero. 😢
I eventually decided to return to my old reliable Yasmin, though I have found that my symptoms remain just as persistent as they were when I was taking Logest. 😢 The most difficult part of this entire ordeal has been the suddenness of it all; Yasmin was such an incredibly reliable presence in my life for years, only to be plunged, without any warning, into a coma. 🤷
I’ve decided to take another two-month break, and I find that my libido has relatively well-recovered in the interim. 😁My gynecologist put me on Triquilar, and since everyone seems to swear by it, I figured I’d give it a shot. So, I started taking it, and yet here I am, still dealing with the exact same libido issues. 🙂

I am genuinely struggling to understand why every medication I have tried this year seems to be completely ineffective for me. Has anyone else dealt with this, or does anyone have any actual advice to offer? 😕 😕

I have to admit, there is a certain apprehension weighing on me regarding tomorrow. I am scheduled to begin my regimen with Cilest, yet I cannot shake the nagging suspicion that if the transition proves unfavorable and I find myself longing to return to Yasmin, the latter might not perform with its former reliability. 😢

Carol Scott98 said:the worst part was that Yasmin used to be absolutely perfect for me for years, and then all of a sudden—just nothing... total blackout. 🤷

Yeah, that happens... but honestly, after a little while, things usually settle back down. Just make sure you're taking your pill at the exact same minute every single day, and try to time your meals around it too. Less stress, more sleep, maybe a bit of exercise... that’s basically it.
I actually went through something almost identical.

I'm just sharing this in case you decide to go back on Yasmin. I've cycled back to it about three times now. The first time? Flawless. The second time? A few hiccups. And now, following what I just mentioned—it's great again.

I’m actually about to switch over to Diana soon, and honestly, I’m almost hoping my libido drops below zero, because living with this constant, overwhelming drive is becoming quite difficult to manage.😢

To be honest, Diana feels even harsher than Triquilar; when I was on them originally, the experience was just terrible. I gained a significant amount of weight, and then once I stopped taking them, I experienced sudden weight loss, fatigue, heavy periods, and breakouts.😢 I can't say for certain it will be the same for you, but my own experience with them was definitely negative.

It isn't actually necessary to be that precise, especially since we aren't dealing with an antibiotic...
I'm curious where you're getting your information from? 😕 😕 😕

I suppose there isn't much we can do about it at this point... 🤷

Carol Scott98 said:Honestly, Diana is even worse than Triquilar... I was on Diana first and it was a total nightmare. I put on weight like crazy, then once I stopped, I dropped it all off instantly—along with some pretty brutal periods and breakouts. 😢I'm not saying the same thing will happen to you, but my experience with them was definitely rough.

Look, I get it, but I have to start taking them because of acne and PCOS. If you're just using pills for birth control, I don't know why they gave you such a heavy dose. 😕

If you ask me, birth control pills absolutely murder any sense of desire for sex. I spent years cycling through Triquilar, Cilest, and Logest, and honestly, I thought I’d just grown tired of my husband after seven years together—but it wasn't him, it was the meds. Then, because of some health issues, I had to stop taking them cold turkey, and oh my god, it was like I turned into a completely different person overnight; my libido came back with such a vengeance that my husband could barely keep up, he didn't even recognize me! And don't even get me started on the dryness, it was just pure misery, so I am never touching those things again. On the plus side, at least those insane mood swings have finally disappeared.

I definitely agree, though I still have another year of college left, so I "have" to stay on the pill. My partner isn't exactly thrilled about it, but since condoms aren't really an option for us—we’ve been together a long time, so there's no worry about STIs, though honestly, things haven't been particularly great lately 😁 😉—I'm sticking with the oral contraceptives. To be truthful, though, I can't wait to finally be done with them; I've been taking them for nearly eight years now 😢, which probably isn't the healthiest track record...

I honestly don't know if I'm the only one dealing with this—maybe it's the birth control, maybe it's just me, or maybe it's my boyfriend—but my libido has gone absolutely haywire since I started on Loestrin. I haven't noticed any issues with dryness or anything like that... but my attitude? Let's just say it’s gotten way more intense than usual, if that even makes sense 🤷

Same here. My drive shot through the roof on Loestrin, but now I'm just depressed and acting all kinds of weird... kind of ironic, honestly, since the depression is partly because I can't actually satisfy the urge. 🙂

slypilot16 said:I'm feeling the exact same way—my libido totally spiked after starting Logest, but honestly, I've just become so depressed and moody... it's kind of ironic, actually, because the depression itself makes it impossible to actually satisfy that drive.🙂

Honestly, my mood swings are enough to drive anyone crazy😢
but on the bright side, the pills have been great for me physically—no skin breakouts, no cellulite issues, nothing like that... it's just those awful personality shifts that get to me.
