Hey.

I need to grab some new glasses ASAP (decided to ditch the contacts :\( ), so I'm wondering if I actually have to wander all over New York City hitting up every single shop, or if there's one spot with a massive selection and decent discounts. Assuming such a place exists, I guess they'd also handle the eye exams and all that other stuff.

Thanks.

I’ve decided to ditch the contacts—back to glasses for me—so I need to pick up a new pair soon. Does anyone know if I actually have to wander all over New York City hitting every single shop, or is there one spot with a massive selection and decent deals? Assuming they also handle the eye exams and all that jazz.

Thanks everyone!!!!

The General Electric clinic & optical shop right in the corridor behind the bakery near the Square...

You can get an exam covered by insurance—provided you have a referral from an ophthalmologist—which saves you the cash, though their frame selection is somewhat limited. Once you have that diagnosis in hand, just head over to LensCrafters right before the Bulldog; they carry upwards of 3,000 different frames.👍 👍

Honestly, you should really head over to LensCrafters; the staff there is incredibly kind and, more importantly, they actually know their stuff, plus they offer free eye exams and will take care of any little adjustments or repairs for free as long as you're a regular customer.
I actually ended up stopping by them recently to pick up my very first pair of glasses and some contacts based on a recommendation I saw online, and I have to say, the whole experience was just wonderful.

Honestly, I’d say Walgreens is your top choice here in the States. If they had locations in New York City, they’d easily be at the top of the list there, too. They really are worth checking out—the staff is incredibly knowledgeable and just genuinely kind.

...nah, no way....that’s just not gonna fly here....and you little troll...if you keep spamming PDFs with that Walgreens nonsense, I'm gonna have to hit you with a permaban...
