Has anyone tried Trinovum?

Ugh, okay, so back before I had kids, I used to take Trinovum after my checkups and everything... didn't have a single issue.🙂Well, I decided to start looking for them again and I've been on them for seven days now, but I totally skipped reading the instructions for Birth Control😵 so I was just winging it. Like, the manual clearly says you take the white pills for week one, pink for week two, orange for week three, and you're supposed to start the first pill on day one of your period. But here's the thing... I'm still spotting, and honestly, I'm losing my mind. Is this even normal?? It's been seven years since I last touched this stuff so I completely forgot how the whole process works. Is it possible I'm still bleeding because I didn't start with those white tablets? Does that actually matter??😕After I finished the first four pills, I switched over to the white ones. When is this spotting going to stop? Usually, after having two kids, my period lasts about five days, but today makes it seven..😕

jademaker48, those pills work wonders for me. It seriously drives me crazy when people claim they aren't effective just because they've been around forever and there are "newer" options out there. Like, what does the release date even have to do with how well they work? I've been taking them for a year and a half now and everything is perfect. Plus, the best part? Since I have a prescription, they don't cost me a dime.

And if you’ve got a prescription for a three-month supply, it ends up costing me about $11, so honestly—full five stars for these pills

I gotta admit—it’s pretty rare to find a gynecologist who actually gives a damn about their patients like this.

Back when I first started looking for contraception about eight years ago, they just handed me Diane-35 without running any preliminary tests or anything, so I took them for four years and eventually stopped once I didn't need them anymore. Then, about a year and a half ago, I went back in for birth control and was prescribed Diane-35 all over again, and none of the doctors I saw before mentioned a single thing about concerns... excuse my language, but I just kept getting my prescriptions filled regularly and everything was fine. They worked perfectly for me, and I didn't gain a single ounce of weight or deal with any side effects at all... but now, I see this new doctor—he’s not young, just new to me—and as soon as I show up for my refill, he immediately puts me on the exam table and tells me I can't take Diane-35 anymore because I don't have PCOS or whatever, so he won't prescribe it for me. I tried to explain to him, really calmly, that I've seen seven different doctors and not one of them ever raised these issues or tried to talk me out of it since they work so well for my body and I have zero side effects, but he just wouldn't listen and instead switched me over to Trinovum. Now I have to start those pills in two weeks, and I am genuinely terrified of what the side effects might be... I feel like I'm going crazy, and as much as I'd love to just find a new doctor, I can't even face the nightmare of dealing with all that paperwork again because every clinic is so incredibly backed up 😢((

I was taking them until last month, but I stopped...

And now my period is two weeks late.😠

I've been on them for four years now.
The only side effect I dealt with was gaining about 10 pounds during the first two months, but other than that, everything’s been fine.
I get them via prescription, so they don't cost me a dime. 😛

Before this, I tried Yasmin and it was a disaster—constant headaches, mood swings, dizziness... the whole deal.

So, I’ve been on them for almost three weeks now... I haven't really dealt with any side effects, though I might have put on a little weight 😠😠😠😠 , but honestly, I'm assuming that was just from the Easter weekend since I spent the whole time basically overindulging from sunrise to sunset. As for the Trinovum, I haven't quite figured it out yet, other than the fact that if I take it late at night—like, say, around midnight—I get hit with this intense hunger that lasts for three days straight where I can barely eat anything... I'm starting to feel hungry enough to get dizzy! I try my best to avoid eating anything after I take it. It's such a different experience compared to when I was on Diane, because back then, I didn't gain a single ounce. ugh

Honestly, what you're experiencing is totally normal, and it happens to almost everyone after stopping birth control. I was on Diane for three years straight, and once I finally quit, it took about six months for my cycle to actually get back to its regular rhythm... everything just kind of stabilized on its own eventually. Your ovaries basically need some time to relearn how to function independently since they’ve been relying on those hormones to do all the heavy lifting for so long. If it starts really bothering you or making you anxious, though, you should definitely just head to your OBGYN; they can always prescribe something specifically to help regulate things. That’s actually what happened with me, because my first couple of cycles after quitting were delayed by over forty days, and then the third one was maybe two weeks late, and the next one was even later... but then, out of nowhere, things just smoothed out and I didn't even end up needing the extra meds. So, please don't worry too much. The only thing you really need to watch out for is that once you stop taking them, you're at your most fertile... 😉 🙂

Same thing happened to me. As soon as I stopped taking Yasmin, I ended up pregnant with twins.🤣

I used them for a while a few years back. They gave me splitting headaches and caused some weight gain. I quit, and while the weight stayed, the headaches stopped. Then I switched to Logest and dealt with some strange mood swings. So, I stopped those too. Now I don't take any birth control at all, and I'm relatively normal. 😳

So, I just finished up my first round with them... I’m expecting my period to start this Sunday, since that’s been the pattern so far... I haven't really noticed any major side effects, other than feeling incredibly hungry immediately after I take them, which actually makes me feel a bit lightheaded and dizzy... and honestly, I'm also starting to get a little worried that they aren't giving me a full, even tan everywhere😲

Exactly. I actually started taking them just so I could predict exactly when my period would hit. My cycles used to be all over the place—anywhere from 35 to 40 days. Now that I’m on Diane 35, everything is dialed in. It usually shows up around day 25, lasts maybe two to four days, and then I'm good to go. 😁

A few posts up there include my old thread about Trinovum. It was working perfectly for me until maybe two or three months ago. Then, out of nowhere, I started getting these brutal headaches and bleeding after sex every single time. I finally stopped taking them at the twelve-month mark, and yesterday my OB-GYN switched me over to something else.
Trinovum is one of those high-dose hormone pills—way stronger than the newer stuff they prescribe these days. My doctor mentioned yesterday that it’s pretty rare for doctors to even put patients on it anymore.
Lindynette is on the insurance formulary now, but you still have to pay an extra $11 per box.
