Best movies from 2008?

Coming in fifth place is "Marley & Me". I was under the impression this film was released in 2009, but it actually hit theaters back in 2008. It is quite an endearing movie, even if the screenplay itself is remarkably uninspiring and poorly executed.

I've added a few more titles to my watchlist:

Taking the number 4 spot is Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind - a truly fantastic comedy. It is worth noting that the lead actor, Jason Segel, actually penned the screenplay himself.

At number 6, we have The Reader - a blend of a World War II drama and an erotic thriller, boasting superb direction and a stellar cast. While David Kross delivers a great performance, I personally feel that Kate Winslet shouldn't have won the Oscar for this role.

Coming in at number 13 is Blindness - a compelling look at mass blindness. The atmosphere reminds me quite a bit of films like Children of Men and Weeks Later.

Number 14 is Seven Pounds, featuring excellent performances by Will Smith and Rosario Dawson. In my estimation, this film is significantly better than The Pursuit of Happyness, which simply didn't resonate with me.

The lesser entries: Death Race, Role Models, The Day the Earth Stood Still, My Best Friend's Girl (starring Kate Hudson and Jason Biggs), and Mirrors.
