Let him drive. If he stays ahead of Massa until the end, I'll give him his props, honestly. But this whole situation where they had to pull out? That's just straight-up bad luck...

There's a huge difference between hating on Ferrari and Massa and actually looking at what's happening on the track...
That’s why I don't get some of you guys. I don't know what kind of twisted logic makes you pray for a neighbor's cow to die or wish a Ferrari or Mercedes engine would explode just so your favorite driver can win.🀷

I don't see any sane person celebrating a win under these conditions.🀷

rustystag7 said:Sure, rooting for someone is great, and man, I wish Fernando Alonso could win every single day, but when things go south like they did today, it's just unreal. It's impossible.🀷

I'm honestly not following your drift with these posts.🀷
Are you trying to say Alonso didn't earn this win today?πŸ˜•
He was the best in two out of the three practice sessions, cruised through Q2, and only missed out on a top qualifying spot because of bad luck with the fuel pump. Then today, in those opening laps (before the crash involving Pike), he sliced past four drivers on track. He drove the entire race without a single mistake, and if anyone deserves a win, it's him after today.
And saying it was made easier by Massa's accident? You can balance that out with Alonso's bad luck from yesterday.

I haven't scrolled through everything yet, so I'm not sure if I'm the only one who caught this;

during that second pit stop, it looked like the veteran lollipop man was giving Kimi Raikkonen the signal😁

so it's honestly no surprise, right?😬

Whoever thought using a damn digital screen was a good idea needs to be smacked upside the head😁

The whole issue is that a human is still running the show, and that person is just watching what's happening through a screen... so the guy hits the green light the second he sees them pulling the hose out, but if the hose gets stuck and needs a little wiggle... you're screwed because the car has already taken off and the hose is gonna yank you down
You don't run into those kinds of issues with a lollipop man, because if he does his job right, he only raises the stick once the hose is totally clear

If I remember right, Maniac refused to take the bet once he saw Nick Heidfeld got penalized β˜•

And let's wait at least one more day 😬

Who knows what tomorrow's results will look like 🀣

You don't have these issues with a lollipop man, because if he does his job right, he doesn't raise the stick until the hose is actually clear.

If it weren't for those Italians over at FIAT, they would've fixed this ages ago.🀣 I could probably rig it up myself for a few bucks.πŸ˜‚ It's ridiculous that these geniuses used a basic kill switchβ€”something that won't even let the light turn green until the hose is fully disconnected from the car.πŸ˜‰ Honestly, they wouldn't even need a person standing there.πŸ˜‰

If we're lucky, maybe we'll see Timo Glock or truo take the win at the next race, then Nico Rosberg follows, and finally big shot David Coulthard brings it home 😁 ,and then just toss in a victory for the guys after that πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™

I was honestly blown away by today's race! 😍
I guess I’m just not sure where to even begin.

That start was impressive... nobody really messed anyone up. Well, maybe a little bit of contact between Kubica and Kovalainen, but it was minor. And knowing how Kubica drives and carries himself, I don't think there was any bad intention there.

It was also interesting to see Kimi so sharp right at the start. Honestly, he hasn't been that focused lately. 😍

I was also struck by how quickly Massa managed to pull away from Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen.

Kimi ( 😍 ) was quite something when he suddenly started cranking out those fastest laps and closing the gap on Lewis Hamilton. Anything could have happened there. 😬

The track felt incredibly narrow... you could really tell when someone dropped a part from their car and nobody dared to go out and grab it near the edge. They just started waving yellow flags instead. Even Mark Webber tried to "clear" it from the track himself. 😬

Massa stood out to me again. I mean, how much of an idiot do you have to be to spend three laps circling some random debris that fell off a car, only to drive straight over it the very next lap?!

And then there's Nelson Piquet. Look, man, just because your name is Nelson Piquet doesn't automatically mean you're actually talented enough for Formula 1.

The way the whole order completely fell apart once the Pace Car pulled off was pretty wild. 😡

I suppose I could go on with more observations... there would be plenty to find.
I can only say that what fascinated me most was the Ferrari pit box. I don't get itβ€”why couldn't Massa just drive with that piece of junk hanging from his fuel tank?! I mean, what if it had been flapping around and putting the other drivers in direct danger?

Oh, and one more thing... BlaΕΎica's commentary about Fernando Alonso's "masterful" driving caught my attention. πŸ™„ What exactly was masterful about it? The guy just took whatever was handed to him on a silver platter. To me, "masterful" would have been charging from 15th to 1st and overtaking everyone in his path. The guy won. He deserved it. But there's nothing particularly fascinating about that to me. πŸ™‚

The only problem is I don't even know where to begin with my thoughts.

The start was captivating... nobody really collided with anyone else. Well, maybe a tiny bit with Kubica and Kovalainen, but that was minor. And given how Kubica usually drives and carries himself, you could tell there was absolutely no ill intent involved.

It was also fascinating to see Kimi actually alert right at the start. Honestly, that hasn't been his typical vibe lately. 😍

I was struck by how quickly Massa managed to pull away from Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen.

The lack of space on this track was striking... you saw it most clearly when something fell off a car; nobody dared to go out and grab it near the edge of the track. Instead, they just started waving yellow flags. Even Mark Webber tried to "clear" it himself. 😬

Massa caught my attention again. Seriously, how much of a fool do you have to be to spend three laps circling some random debris someone dropped, only to drive straight over the exact same spot the very next lap?!

Then there's Nelson Piquet. Look, kid, just because your name is Nelson Piquet doesn't mean you're automatically a prodigy in Formula 1.

The absolute chaos in the standings once the Pace Car pulled in was something else entirely. 😡

I won't list every single thing that caught my eye... we'd be here all night.
If I had to pick one standout, it would have to be the Ferrari pit box. I truly don't understandβ€”why couldn't Massa just drive with that piece of junk hanging off the fuel tank?! I mean, what if that thing starts flapping around and puts the other drivers in direct danger?

Oh, and one more thing... BlaΕΎica's commentary about Fernando Alonso's "masterful" driving fascinated me. πŸ™„ What exactly was masterful about it? The guy just took whatever opportunities landed in his lap. To me, "masterful" would be carving through the field from 15th to 1st, overtaking everyone in sight. The guy won. He earned it. But there’s nothing particularly magical about that. πŸ™‚

Just another example of how people start thinking exactly alike once they live together. 😁

Absolute genius... I guess it's pretty obvious we come from the same neck of the woods. πŸ˜›
I guess it depends. What happens if the guy with the air hose finishes his job, but then things go sidewaysβ€”like the kids putting a wheel on the car get stuck with a jammed gun, a nut falls off, or the wheel just rolls away? What's the protocol in that situation? 😬

🀣

And regarding Felipe Massa, you really couldn't have expected him to keep driving while dealing with a Lollipop issue.

But if that had been Kimi RΓ€ikkΓΆnen behind the wheel, he probably would have shaken it off before he even cleared the pit lane. πŸ™

And what happens if the guy with the air hose finishes his job, but then some kid trying to swap a tire jams the impact wrench, drops a nut, or just lets a wheel go rolling off into the distance? What’s the plan then? 😬

God, I swear, this sensor issue is driving me insane. You know there are sensors for basically everything living out thereβ€”and even for random junk like rubber, metal, aluminum, copper, or even flour (you know, that mysterious white powder).😬 ) 🀣 Whatever you say. πŸ˜‰ Depending on how good the sensors are, they don't even need to be touching the material. They can work from about four inches away, so it’s totally fixable. You just have electronics that track everything in sequence, and once all the conditions are met, the indicator light kicks in.πŸ˜‰

Taught by the sheer quality of Ford electronics. 🀣 They probably just wanted to dodge that component.πŸ˜‚ Honestly, they probably would have been better off sticking with the old Lollipop.😁

I don't know. Personally, I think even if you slammed it right into a wall, that hose would stay hooked on. But hey, that's just my take. β˜•
