Norethindrone

So, I’m trying to push my period back by like, 5 or 6 days because of this upcoming vacation, and I was wondering if anyone here has actually messed around with Norethindrone tablets? I've heard people talking about them and was thinking maybe they might work... does anyone have any real-life experience with it? Thanks a bunch!

From what I can gather, those Norethindrone tablets aren't all that different from Diane in terms of their composition. It’s nothing groundbreaking, really; they're just hormones... I haven't actually used them myself, though...

So, does that mean you aren't one of those people who actually uses birth control, since you're asking about these? Because with any kind of pill, you can technically extend or shorten your cycle if you ever find yourself needing to👍 In any case, the principle remains identical: it’s all about the hormones.

Look, I’ve taken them, but strictly for medical reasons. Honestly, I don't know if it's even a smart move for you to be popping those without talking to a doctor first.

So, I checked in with my doctor :-) and they said it’s totally fine to push my period back by about a week using those Norethindrone tablets without any issues.
Just so you guys know, I don't even take any kind of birth control pills normally...

...hm...does anyone know if these tablets can be bought over the counter without a prescription? And just purely for informational purposes—what kind of price range are we looking at here???

So I’ve got this box of Norethindrone lying around. My doctor prescribed it back when my period was late, but then my cycle just decided to show up on its own, so the meds ended up being totally useless for me.
The box is still sealed, though the expiration date is 07/2013.
Anyway, if anyone actually needs it—obviously, go talk to your doctor first, don't be reckless

I thought I’d jump in here and share my experience too... my doctor actually prescribed those Norethindrone tablets to me back when I had missed my period for two months straight...
I ended up taking them for about ten days, and then my period arrived just two or three days later. I suppose they might work for delaying things as well, though I guess you should definitely check with your doctor first 🙂

I take them every single month starting on the 16th—ten days total, twice a day... but since my OBGYN is away on vacation right now, I'm currently without a prescription...
