I am reaching out because I could really use some insight from this group... I was just prescribed a new course of Norethindrone to finally trigger my period, since the Danazol treatment I just finished failed to bring anything at all.
Does anyone here have any personal experience with these specific pills? What should I be expecting? THANK YOU.

I know you mentioned this quite some time ago, but I suppose I should finally give you an answer...

I have been taking those Norethindrone pills on a regular basis for three years now—three whole years—and honestly, the only thing they've done is cause me to gain weight, which, let's be clear, is not ideal at all... though, I guess, they do actually work for what they are intended for.

I was recently prescribed them myself after being diagnosed with PCOS. They actually helped jumpstart my cycle since I hadn't had a period in four whole months. I finished one pack, but I'm honestly still unsure about the next steps. My main concern is whether my cycle will return to normal without relying on them. For what it's worth, I haven't gained any weight or noticed any other side effects. If anything, I feel much better because those irregular cycles used to trigger these intense headaches. They weren't constant, but when they hit, they were brutal. I've dealt with irregular periods my entire life, but the gaps were never that concerning until I missed four months straight; that’s when I finally went to see a doctor to figure out what was going on. What exactly did your doctor prescribe those pills for?

I’ve been taking Norethindrone for two cycles now—my period was way too short and those first-day cramps were absolutely brutal. As far as the pain goes, they’ve definitely helped; it's actually manageable now. But during that first cycle, I don't know if it was the pills or just bad luck, but I ended up with these huge clusters of lumps in my breasts. I went in for a biopsy and it turned out to be nothing serious—just some swollen glandular tissue—but honestly, I was terrified when I first felt them.🙂

I actually did the exact same thing with those pills (just one pack) when I started spotting on day 18. My OB-GYN told me I’d get my regular period back after about 10 days, and that’s exactly what happened.🙂
