When I was actually trying to conceive, he would finish inside me, but it still took us five months to get pregnant. Getting pregnant isn't exactly a walk in the park.

It’s always like that.
Everyone I talk to says that when you're actively trying, it takes a while, but if you aren't looking to get pregnant, it happens out of nowhere.

Most people I know who deal with unplanned pregnancies say it happened because things slipped or they just weren't being careful enough.

I even know one case where someone got pregnant seemingly out of thin air—he claims he didn't even finish inside her, though he was wasted, so who knows?

I agree with what you said about condoms. We used one, it didn't break or slip off, and he pulled out and finished in the condom away from my body. There is zero chance I got pregnant from that.

There are certain things I did back when I was just a kid that make me cringe now—it’s hard to even look back, knowing we wouldn't dream of repeating them as adults.
Even though I have some birth control pills tucked away in my drawer, I don't think I'll be relying on those—so, going by what you said regarding the statistics, what are the actual odds of me getting pregnant during that short window of time? Though, I suppose they say it only takes once...

Even though I have birth control pills sitting in my drawer, I don't plan on using them. Like you said, if we go by the statistics, what are the actual odds of getting pregnant during those few moments we're having sex? People say it only takes once...

In my opinion, those studies are contradictory and it's hard to draw any logical conclusion from them.
Supposedly, if you have unprotected sex twice a week, there’s about a 35% chance of pregnancy (assuming he finishes inside). As I mentioned, pulling out is supposedly 75-90% reliable, but most people trash that method and don't even consider it actual contraception.
Taking all that into account—if you're using the pull-out method, and considering how difficult it is to get pregnant even if he does finish inside—the chances should be less than 1%.

But, as you can see, it still happens. How many cases of that have we actually seen around us lately?
I've read so much conflicting info that I'm lost—it makes it seem like you could get pregnant even if he just pulls out early!

I’d suggest you at least try the pill. Most women complain about the side effects, but at least you can sleep easy knowing your period will arrive right on schedule.
You won't be harmed by them; once you stop taking them, everything goes back to normal.
If you're healthy and don't have underlying medical issues, there's no reason to fear using them.

I’d like to jump in here regarding the whole topic of birth control and the anxiety surrounding it...
Since last November, I’ve been on Logitech, which has one of the lowest hormone levels out there—though I know some girls will argue that Yasmin is actually the lower-dose option.
Ever since I started taking them, it feels like they aren't even there. It’s just one more thing on my to-do list: take the pill first thing when I wake up, and then I'm good to go. I check twice a day just to make sure I didn't miss it, but honestly, I sleep soundly knowing I'm covered sexually, regardless of the timing or the day.

I haven't dealt with any side effects at all. I haven't gained an abnormal amount of weight, I don't feel bloated, and I'm not irritable; if anything, it's been the exact opposite.
It's never been easier for me to maintain my weight or lose a few pounds, especially now heading into summer.😁
My face and skin are incredibly smooth—completely clear of breakouts or bumps.
My PMS is much milder, and my period itself is barely noticeable; it lasts about four or five days now, compared to the six or seven days it used to be.
The cramps are negligible...
They have been a huge help to me.
Of course, if someone is feeling fearful, they should just sit down and talk to their gynecologist. They can answer every possible question and prescribe the specific pill that fits your unique health profile. There's really no reason to be afraid.
Ever since I switched to Logitech, I’ve felt totally relaxed regarding intimacy and everything else.
I realize you shouldn't just play around with these medications, but then again, what is "good" these days?
Pills aren't what they used to be either; older generations were loaded with hormones and God knows what else, leaving women completely deregulated once they started.
That said, I firmly believe every woman should stop taking them at least six months before trying to get pregnant.
😉

I used to take Logitech, and they worked great for me.
Back when I had a boyfriend living in Denver, I’d pick them up there since they weren't even available on the US market yet.
Apparently, they're around here now.

My gynecologist put me on Triguilar, so that's what I'm taking currently.
I haven't had any major side effects—the worst were definitely Cilest; I dealt with cramps and light spotting all month long while on those.

The only real issues are the lowered libido, which seems to be a massive complaint among women. Other than that, nothing.

Anyway, my period is nowhere to be seen. I think I'll take another test tomorrow or the day after just to rule out pregnancy entirely, though I don't feel pregnant at all.

Look, some women just lose their drive entirely when they're on birth control. You used to have it, but now that you've finally kicked the pills to the curb, your libido has basically gone into overdrive. Honestly, to me, it sounds perfectly logical. Your sex drive has been ramping up naturally as you've gotten older, and it’s only now—without those hormones suppressing everything—that you're actually seeing what your true potential is. There isn't some magic pill to dampen down a natural biological urge, after all. I don't see why you're acting like this is some huge mystery or why it's even bothering you 😉 so just go out there and enjoy yourself

I don't see what's weird about it or why it bothers you. 😉Just go have sex.

The weird part is that I haven't always been on the pill, so I know what my baseline drive actually feels like.
I've had a prescription for six years, but I've spent more time off them than on them—and while my libido was higher when I wasn't taking them (which makes sense), it was never *this* intense.

It's gone way beyond anything normal, and I'm not exaggerating.
I am constantly aroused without any provocation whatsoever.

I'll have sex with my boyfriend and be satisfied in maybe thirty minutes—he can't even last that long.

God, reading this back... I sound ridiculous.

So, have you somehow missed the fact that a woman's libido actually tends to climb as she gets older? Do you even realize just how much of a difference six years makes in that department? 😉

Honestly, what am I even supposed to say to you? If you’ve got a shred of decency left, just take care of things yourself, or maybe find a guy who’s willing to go down on you whenever the mood strikes. But if you don't care about being a decent person... 😁

I honestly think you’re just overthinking this and spiraling for no reason... I already told you this... now you’re just scrolling through these "expert" posts and making yourself even more anxious.
It’s obvious you’ve thrown your system out of whack—when things get this messy, your body chemistry gets a little scrambled too.
You aren't going to feel any better until you actually calm down.
And regarding what you said about waiting a few days... give yourself some breathing room. Maybe wait until Wednesday? It’s the weekend, after all. Just try to decompress. If nothing happens by then, then you deal with the test result and go from there.
Whatever the outcome is...
Whether it’s a positive or a negative, you should take the results to your OB-GYN. They’re the ones who can tell you exactly how to manage your medication or whatever else you need to do next.

Just take a breath and step away from this forum for a bit.
It isn't helping you. We’re all just sharing our own individual experiences here, and no two women are exactly alike. Reading all these different stories is only going to confuse you and send you down the wrong path, which is the last thing you need right now.

Carol Brooks41 said:It might just be psychological, since I’ve started getting pretty paranoid lately.
Now I’m even questioning if I can actually trust the test results (I know, probably overthinking it.)

Logic and common sense tell me there's basically zero chance I'm pregnant, and since I messed up my pill schedule, that's likely the culprit—it's all hormones, who knows what got thrown off balance.

Has anyone else dealt with something similar?

For instance, my libido felt somewhat similar (though maybe not quite that extreme) when I switched from Diane to Cilest, even though I didn't notice a drop in drive specifically. It also happened once where I accidentally took two pills in one day because I was taking something else and totally lost track of whether I'd already taken it.😂 My OB-GYN told me it wouldn't matter much, just that my period might come early. You essentially just delayed yours a bit. Well, I never used Triguilar, so I can't speak for those three specific brands... things might be a little wonky right now, but it'll settle back to normal, don't worry.

I doubt anything is wrong with you, and as for the libido🤷, that's just down to the individual.

What can I say? If you have a conscience, just handle it yourself or let your boyfriend take care of it whenever he can. If you don't... 😁

I’ve already pointed out several times that I haven't been taking them for six years straight—I just received the prescription six years ago.

you've clearly mixed everything up, which means things are probably just a bit out of whack in your system...

whatever happens...
whether it's positive or negative.. any OBGYN can check you and tell you how to proceed with medication etc.

Just relax and step away from this forum for a bit.
It won't help you much... we all just share our own experiences here, and no two women are the same, so it'll only confuse you further—or worse, mislead you, which is the last thing you need right now.

Look, I’m the type of person who is going to worry regardless.
Besides, you all have helped calm me down a bit, because I'm a massive worrier and don't always think rationally.
Hearing other people's stories is helpful and I know there's no actual reason to panic, but there's still that nagging doubt in the back of my mind.
And I won't be at peace until my cycle gets back to normal.

I realize that everyone's experience is different and every woman's situation is unique.
None of us here are doctors, so nobody can claim anything with absolute certainty; naturally, everyone's opinion and experience should be taken with a grain of salt.

Still, when five different people tell me I shouldn't worry—it's soothing and helps.

If you figure out what’s causing this crazy libido spike, send me a P.M.... I might just slip some of those pills into my wife's cocoa...☕

Carol Brooks41 said:Hey.

Here's the situation. Please, don't laugh.

I usually take Triguilar, but last month I went on a trip and forgot my pack. I ended up buying a box in another city and just kept going from where I left off with the old one.
But things got messy. I was slammed at work, getting home late every night, just mindlessly popping pills and forgetting to stop when I actually should have.
When I hit the "start" mark, I just kept right on going—starting over from the beginning (don't ask how, I was just totally scattered).

Anyway, after three pills in, I realized what I was doing. My period came, so I stopped taking them (I probably should have just continued, but whatever, it happened).
I figured since I already messed everything up this month, I wouldn't take anything else and would just restart properly with my next cycle.

My last period was April 6th. I haven't had this one yet. My cycle is usually exactly 30 days, so I'm technically one day late.
I took a pregnancy test; it was negative (we used condoms during the window after I stopped the pills, except for once—which is why I tested).

As far as I can tell, ovulation was around April 26th (though I don't know how much weight to give that; if it really was then, my period is definitely going to be late).

The thing is, for the last two days, my libido has been through the roof. Like, animalistic.
It's intense. Unbelievably, terribly, insanely high. I've never experienced a spike like this in my entire life.

Is this just a hormonal mess because I botched the pill schedule, or what?
Normally, these pills kill my sex drive. That's one of the side effects I deal with.
What do you guys think?
Is this normal, or am I worrying over nothing?

Just giving you an update, though nothing has really changed.
Menge hasn't arrived, and there isn't even a hint that it’s on its way.
I couldn't get an appointment with my OB-GYN until Thursday; they were completely booked up before then.
In the meantime, I've taken three more tests, and they were all negative.

Now I'm starting to get seriously worried that something is fundamentally wrong, especially since I'm getting these sharp pains in my ovaries.

Could it be related to my PCOS?

So, you basically wasted your money on those tests, but oh well...

And honestly, even without running all those tests, we already knew you weren't pregnant..😉

Maybe it's just some kind of inflammation?
You'll get the full picture on Thursday..
Definitely keep me posted.. I'm hoping everything turns out fine and that this isn't something caused by mixing up those random pills of yours..
Hang in there.

Just wanted to pass along some info.

I asked the pharmacist about those pregnancy tests, specifically the one I used.
Victoria's Secret (and the others I tried) are supposed to be super reliable even a few days before a missed period, though apparently, they aren't always that foolproof.
I told her mine was negative on the day my period was due, but she said it’s entirely possible I just took it too early, regardless of what the instructions claim.

The next one I took was on the third day of being late, but it was just some cheap one from $6.75.
She recommended I try one more once I was a week late, so I went back to Victoria's Secret.
Her take is that if it still shows negative after a full week of being late, there's almost zero chance I'm pregnant.

According to her, when women see a positive result 20 days after a missed period, it’s usually because the period wasn't actually delayed by pregnancy in the first place—it was already going to be late.
Pregnancy just happened in the meantime because ovulation shifted.
Basically, the woman conceived right around her expected period or even later.

At least, that's what she says. (I guess a pharmacist knows a thing or two).

Good grief, Carol Brooks41, you’re going to lose your mind... and probably go bankrupt over these tests too..
I’ve told you before: just walk away from this forum and stop obsessing, because you’re never going to get the amount you're looking for.

How could you possibly succeed when you're under constant pressure and acting like someone is out to get you?...
You're just chasing ghosts at this point...
And let’s be real—you aren't pregnant... for the thousandth time...
Honestly, I’m already counting down the days until Thursday so I can finally leave, because you’re driving me crazy. The only reason I even show up here is to see what kind of wild new idea you've cooked up next...😁

Just let everything be fine... don't make life harder than it needs to be...

Don't sweat it—you’re fine. You aren't pregnant, I'm certain of it. I went through that exact same spiral of paranoia once... just a string of negative tests while I waited... and that was for a full month. Yeah, my period was a month late...
