He's supposedly better than Lewis Hamilton, though I remember seeing Fernando Alonso fly right past him last year—it was a beautiful overtake to watch, really. Anyway, what was it you were asking about that F1 game?

If Fernando Alonso were truly the best driver on the planet, he wouldn't be stuck struggling in that absolute mess right now ☕

Man, I haven't heard a more brilliant piece of logic in a long, long time.👍

If we’re strictly looking at the official standings, they were tied on points, and Hamilton gets the edge just because he snagged one extra second-place finish—which, honestly, feels like a totally idiotic rule to me.
But if we want to talk about who was actually the better driver...
Head-to-head qualifying: Alonso vs. Hamilton is 8-9.
Head-to-head races: Alonso vs. Hamilton is 10-7.
The gap between those qualifying numbers and the race results tells you everything you need to know about pure driving skill. Most of the time, Alonso was starting behind Hamilton on the grid (7-10), yet he consistently finished ahead of him once the lights went out.
And regarding those seven wins for Hamilton... five of them happened early in the season while Alonso was still struggling with his car setup. For the rest of the year, Hamilton only pulled ahead when Alonso got hit with that penalty in Canada or when he spun out in Japan.
I could probably even run the math on how much the team favored Hamilton during the second half of the season, and if I did, the stats would lean even more heavily toward Alonso.

It’s honestly pretty hilarious to hear people claiming Hamilton was better than Alonso last year just because of a single extra second-place trophy.🙄

Honestly, what is with this sudden need to act like you're some kind of big shot? Just drop the attitude and stop trying so hard to sound important. 🙂

Look, let’s be real here—Hamilton was clearly the better driver in that matchup. Alonso showed up already riding high on two championships under his belt, so you’d expect him to walk in and dominate wherever Hamilton managed to find success. It’s like if you took someone like Novak Djokovic and sat him right next to an all-time legend; you’d fully expect him to rack up four or five wins just by being in that tier of competition. That's how the math should work, right?

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Of course Hamilton was the superior driver compared to Alonso; look, Alonso came into this with two titles under his belt, so he really should have been able to clinch wins wherever Hamilton managed to pull one off, and if you just take someone like Roger Federer and put him next to a true champion, you'd expect four or five more wins, or at least that's how I see it.

Hemic, you've basically got a different version of the same guy running the show over at McDonald's...

honestly, if Hemic were from some small town in the Midwest instead of where he's from, they would have already crucified him😁
and probably before he even sat behind the wheel.

Man, if Hemic were some big-shot politician from the South, they’d have already crucified him😁
long before he even stepped foot in the driver's seat.

For this whole thing to actually make sense with that title—where everyone is sitting around wondering if Hemic or Homic, or whoever you want to call him, is going to pull through this race or if he'll even scrape together some points—I honestly think he's looking at a fourth-place finish.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Of course Hamilton was better than Alonso. Look, Alonso came in with two titles under his belt, so he really should have been winning whenever Hamilton did. It's like comparing LeBron James to some other superstar—if you stack up the wins like that, you see the difference clearly.

Man, you're actually hilarious. 😂😂😂

So by your logic, Schumacher should've been the champ in 2005 before Alonso just because he had seven titles and Alonso had zero? That's wild.

Besides... Alonso only finished just one spot behind Hamilton in two races, whereas Hamilton ended up finishing worse than him in six different ones.

Edward Howard2 said:honestly, you’re being even more ridiculous than I thought😂😂😂

so, if we're following your twisted logic, Schumacher should have been crowned champion back in 2005 before Alonso just because the guy had seven titles under his belt while Alonso was sitting there with zero.

besides... look at the stats—Alonso finished just one spot behind Hamilton in only two races, whereas Hamilton ended up finishing in a worse position in six different outings.

well, obviously everyone expected Sumi to take it, but you can't exactly fight against pure disobedience and a run of terrible luck.

and let's be real, Hemic outplayed Alonso, plain and simple, so there's really nothing left to debate there.
anyway, this whole argument is just pointless nonsense; trying to compare drivers like this is a total waste of breath.

Raymond Ortiz89 said:Of course Sumi was supposed to win. Everyone saw that coming from a mile away. But hey, you can't exactly fight against pure disobedience and just plain old bad luck. That's just how the game goes sometimes.

Look, you actually used a better word there—"expected." Just because that’s what was on your mind doesn't mean everyone else was thinking the same thing. Honestly, before last season kicked off, I didn't see Alonso taking the title either. Mainly because I totally underestimated how competitive McLaren would be. I just didn't think they'd be pulling ahead of Ferrari like that during the races.
Raymond Ortiz89 said:Look, Hemic totally outclassed Alonso there. I don't care what anyone says, there's really no point in even debating it at this stage. Case closed.

Your arguments are honestly super. 👍 🤣

So, wait—are we seriously claiming that when Schumacher left Benetton for Ferrari as a two-time world champ (just like Alonso), he wasn't actually the best driver because he was driving a total junker? Give me a break.

And how exactly can you be so sure moving to Alonso won't pay off?

If I remember right, his move over to Renault was a massive win for him last time around.

If I remember right, making that jump over to Renault really paid off big time for him last time.

Honestly, there's no point even getting into an argument about this. Most people have been looking at the drivers through such a narrow lens over the last few races that they've completely lost the bigger picture.

Man, I swear, at the start of last season I couldn't believe how much people were dragging Kimi, acting like he was just some disinterested driver who didn't give a damn. Everyone had their little complaints, saying he wasn't invested or whatever. But look at him today... he’s basically a god.

I mean, honestly? Alonso got incredibly lucky. And when you look at Kimi... let's just say Massa basically handed him that title on a silver platter. It was all right there for him.🤷

I guess we’re all just looking at this through different lenses, you know? Everyone’s got their own take. But honestly, if you ask me, the true test of a great driver isn't some crazy stat sheet or a bunch of technical jargon. It really comes down to one simple thing: would you actually want that person sitting in your own cockpit? Like, if you were running a top-tier team, would you be begging to have them on your side? That's the real metric for me.

I mean, honestly? Anyone would kill to have him on their roster right now. He’s just that good. But McLaren? Nah, they wouldn't touch him with a ten-foot pole because they're too busy protecting their own little bubble and all those special privileges they've got going on. It's kind of wild if you think about it. 🤷

Honestly, if you ask me, some of this is being totally misread. It’s making it look like Alonso is some kind of loser just because Novak supposedly ran circles around him or whatever. It’s not that simple.

I mean, if you ask me, Novak is actually a seriously talented driver. Like, the kid has massive potential, and I don't think he's nearly as bad as everyone here keeps claiming. Honestly, though? He definitely had it easy being handed that McLaren seat—talk about having things handed to you on a silver platter. 🤷
They’re calling him the best rookie, man. Seriously. 👍

I honestly just don't get it. Like, how can anyone even try to put Kubica in the same conversation as Alonso? It’s just not a fair fight. I mean, look at what Alonso did—that guy is a straight-up freak of nature. He proved exactly how elite he is during that rainy race in Canada, and then you look back at Monza where he was holding off Schumi like it was nothing, keeping him right on his tail for half the race. That kind of stuff? You can't just do that on a whim. Most drivers couldn't pull that off if they had a lifetime to practice. 🤷

Man, I honestly can't believe I let myself get this deep into defending Alonso. What was I even thinking? 😁

Word on the street was that Lonzo just had a better feel for his car, especially during the early part of the season.
The guy joined the squad as a two-time world champ with way more Formula 1 experience than Blackie, who basically hadn't even touched an F1 cockpit before this, right?

Remind me again, who actually came out on top in the end?😕

I mean, if you consider the kid was a total rookie, then he definitely takes the win. ☕

He was a rookie getting half his advice from the absolute GOAT. Honestly, if he didn't have Alonso in the garage, he probably wouldn't have even snagged a win last year.
