Edward Howard2 said:you’re honestly being even more ridiculous than usual😂😂😂

so by your twisted logic, Schumacher should have been the champion back in 2005 just because he had seven titles under his belt while Alonso was sitting on zero.

besides, Alonso only finished behind Hamilton twice, whereas Hamilton ended up finishing behind him six times.

Super....the kid was a rookie, and honestly, most drivers wouldn't have even made it to the finish line where he did.☕

Edward Howard2 said:He was just a rookie getting coached half the season by the absolute best, and honestly, if he hadn't had Alonso on his side, he probably wouldn't have even walked away with a single win last year.

Even Massa was taking tips from Schumacher before things went south and he completely blew it.☕

I thought we all agreed that Massa is a driver, for crying out loud. What's the point?☕

That’s a pretty wild comparison you're making there. 🤣

Edward Howard2 said:See, you actually used a better word there—"expected." But just because that’s what was sitting in your head doesn't mean everyone else was seeing the same thing. Take me, for example; going into last season, I certainly wasn't banking on Alonso taking the title, mainly because I had zero reason to believe McLaren would suddenly become such a powerhouse and start outclassing Ferrari during the races.

Your logic is just super, really top-tier stuff here 👍 🤣

We're basically arguing over total nonsense at this point, so honestly, it doesn't matter how solid my arguments are.

Bradley Nelson2 said:Honestly, I mean, seriously... how do they even have the nerve? 🙄

Look, if you’ve actually got something smart to say, then lay out an argument or something. I'm all ears. But if you’re just gonna drop mindless nonsense or quote stuff just for the sake of hearing yourself talk? Honestly, just skip me. Or better yet, just hit that ignore button and move on. It's not that deep. 🤷

Look, if you're actually gonna jump into this debate, you might as well lay out the case for why Kubica could've been better than Alonso. It’s a wild thought, I know, but hear me out. 🤷

I mean, honestly... comparing some rookie driver who's still finding his footing to a two-time world champ? It just doesn't make any sense. Like, there's zero logic there.

Look, let's try to compare things based on what we actually saw back when Alonso was still finding his footing. I mean, we're talking about a driver who was already dropping hints that he had the potential to evolve into a complete, world-class powerhouse—you know how it goes. But honestly? Trying to measure anyone else against the actual qualities of an Alonso... there's just no way. It doesn't make any sense. No logic to it at all. 🤷

Man, you're nothing but trouble. 😁
If you can't see how much Kubica's driving style mirrors Alonso's, then I really don't know what to tell you. 🤷
I'm not saying Kubica is better than Alonso—at least not yet. He’s got the potential to reach that level, maybe even surpass him, but we'll just have to wait and see.
My point remains: I don't see any reason why anyone shouldn't be allowed to compare two Formula 1 drivers.

if you can't see how much Ricciardo's driving style mirrors Alonso's, then I don't even know what to tell you 🤷
and look, I'm not saying Ricciardo is better than Alonso—not yet, anyway. He’s got the potential to catch up or even blow past him, but hey, time will tell.
The whole point I was making is that I don't see any reason why anyone shouldn't be allowed to compare two Formula 1 drivers.

but seriously, if the issue is that I actually like debating using logic instead of just pulling the "my dad is stronger than your dad" card, then yeah, I guess I'm the problem here. 🙏

Anyway, I'm pretty much on board with everything you said...

But you totally caught me right after that back-and-forth with Jason Campbell70 about whether Hamilton and Ricciardo are better than Alonso...

I mean, okay, Hamilton has definitely shown some stuff. Even if he isn't strictly "better," he's clearly right there in the mix, but it's hard to call it when we haven't seen them going head-to-head without all the political drama getting in the way. 🤷 And Ricciardo is a great kid, maybe one day he'll be top tier, but right now? Not quite. 🤷

Basically, this whole thing started because I said Alonso is the best driver on the track right now... let me explain my reasoning since we've been going in circles on this for a while...

In my eyes, his technical understanding of the car is better than anyone else's. Even the pros say it—he just gets the mechanics of the machine better than most.

And I can't just brush off those insane drives from Canada. Sure, people point to the tires as an excuse, but man, that defensive driving at Monza where he was holding off half of Schumacher's pace while driving a car that was basically a second slower per lap? Total respect for that. 👍

Don't get me wrong, I'm not necessarily a fan of Alonso personally, but he's done things that make me respect him deeply. That's why I think he's the best and most complete driver out there right now. 🤷

Monza?

Nice one, you absolute Formula 1 expert.🙏🙏🙏🙏

And that was already three years ago.

How many people are gonna end up calling themselves huge fans of Michael Schumacher's legacy?

Ferrari? Really?😂

I think that was actually Imola

You're late 😛

Yeah, that was definitely Imola 2005. Schumacher pulled off this insane move to get past Button, then spent the next 13 laps hunting down Alonso on a track where overtaking is basically impossible.

Man, I remember those 13 laps... my heart was pounding like a damn subwoofer.🙏

I’m with you on Alonso being the best on the grid since early 2007.😁
Kimi is next, followed by Kubica. I left Hamilton off my list because I honestly think last year’s MCM car was more than capable of winning a championship. Alonso and Kubica both have their flaws due to how they drive, and let's be real, the internal team drama definitely played a role too. Hamilton could have jumped on that opportunity immediately and snatched a title from a two-time champ in his rookie season. But he didn't. Even though he started the season looking sharp, he folded under pressure. He made some heavy mistakes that, in my book, weren't just "rookie errors." And this season? He's not showing anything special again. In fact, he's looking pretty bad, despite all the talk about how getting rid of TC would suit his style.

Yeah, back at Imola 2005, Schumacher pulled off a masterclass move to get past Button, then spent the next 13 laps hunting down Alonso on a track where passing is basically impossible.

I still remember those 13 laps; my heart was pounding like a damn subwoofer.🙏

And what happened last year? 😁

I thought I made myself clear enough🤷I mean, we're on a Formula 1 subforum. It's basically crawling with people who actually know their stuff when it comes to F1 history.

It’s wild to me that someone could claim to be a fan of Michael Schumacher and not even remember that race.👎

Total Ferrari fanboy😂

man, just drop the Pilatus thing already, okay? Indianapolis is the place. It’s kind of wild how you can get so worked up over some tiny mistake, man...

honestly, do you even have a life or something? 🤷

You're really trying to act like some big-shot Formula 1 expert. And yeah, making a mistake like that is totally unacceptable on this sub.

Swapping out Indianapolis and Daytona, huh? Nice try.

That isn't actually the Pilatus🙄 more like its twin brother, the Pilathino😬
