A friend of mine had thyroid surgery a few months back, and ever since then, everything has just spiraled. She was finally discharged from the hospital a couple of days ago after spending 20 long days undergoing intense testing, only to be left without a diagnosis and basically told she’s on her own.
Her blood sugar and blood pressure are all over the place—swinging from extremely low to incredibly high in less than thirty minutes. She keeps losing consciousness and can barely stay on her feet.
The doctors in San Francisco have been bouncing her from one specialist to another, essentially telling her they can't help.
The only real feedback she got about her condition came from an internist who actually remarked that her case was so "exotic" he’d love to study it! They're recommending a pituitary CT scan, but nobody wants to write the referral because they don't want to deal with the headache.
If anyone knows of any resources or specialists who might be able to help, please reach out... she really needs some guidance right now.
