Knitting πŸ™‚

Mainly, for example:

-I open my hand and stretch out my fingers, they just shake on their own

-my muscles tremble while I'm working too (πŸ˜•)

-At the gym, when I'm benching, my arms shake quite a bit. Even though I can handle the weight easily. Same thing with my legs; I can hit 220 lbs on calf raises without an issue, but they still shake even under much lighter loads

-I hug a girl a little tighter, my hands shake...

I'm not weak, and I'm not skinny, just average. Does anyone have a crystal ball? I haven't gone to see a doctor because I know they'll just send me off to a lab... That's actually the biggest issue, hemophobia. I haven't had blood drawn in over a decade, not even at my physical for work, nowhere.

I realize I should probably **be worried about it getting worse, but just thinking out loud, what could it be?

Thanks.

Basically, here's the deal:

-I hold my hand out, fingers extended, and they just start shaking on their own.

-The muscle tremors happen during physical activity too (πŸ˜•)

-At the gym, when I'm hitting the bench press, my arms shake pretty badly. Even though I can handle the weight without breaking a sweat. Same thing happens with my legsβ€”I can knock out 220 pounds on calf raises easily enough, but they still tremble even under much lighter loads.

-I give a girl a slightly tighter hug, and my hands start shaking...

It's not like I'm weak or anything; I'm a pretty average guy. Does anyone have a crystal ball? I haven't gone to the doctor because I know they'll just try to drag me into some lab for tests... And honestly, that's the biggest hurdle: I have a massive phobia of blood. I haven't had blood work done in over a decade, didn't even do it at my military recruitment exam, nowhere.

I get that I should probably **be terrified of getting poked, but purely speculatively, what could this be?

Thanks!

Are you dealing with night sweats or insomnia? Are you getting cramps, feeling heart palpitations when you do something moderately strenuous like climbing stairs, or getting that choking sensation in your throat while eating? Any issues with your blood pressure?
If you're checking any of those boxes, your tremors might be caused by a thyroid issue.
Listen closely: if you want an actual diagnosis and the right treatment, you're going to have to suck it up and let them draw your blood.
Alternatively, tremors can stem from a whole host of other things like circulation problems, something wrong with your spine, neurological glitches, or it could just be essential tremor, which is just something you live with.

I sweat like crazy, but not at nightβ€”just during heavy exertion. No insomnia issues either; I can sleep way more than I actually get to, so that's not it. I get cramps in my right calf, though, mostly just when stretching in bed after waking up. I climb four flights of stairs a few times every day and haven't noticed any heart palpitations. No throat issues or choking sensations. Blood pressure seems fine.

Just a heads up: if you want an accurate diagnosis and the right treatment, you’re probably going to have to bite the bullet and get some blood work done.
Then again, tremors can stem from all sorts of thingsβ€”circulation problems, spinal issues, neurological glitches, or maybe it's just essential tremor that you were born with.

I figured it would be a hassle. I don't know, I need to think about it. I've tried to go through with it a few times... but I always chicken out. πŸ™ˆ

Seriously, bring a girlfriend along when you have to go get blood drawn. I’m being totally for real here. I’ve seen so many tough guys walking into clinics with their wives or sisters just to feel a bit more steady. It’s honestly nothing to be ashamed of. Just tell the nurse that you’re feeling a little panicky, and they’ll usually let you sit on the exam table. Honestly, it’s better to just hang out there for a few minutes after they're done until that nervous feeling finally passes.
