Laser eye surgery: anyone have recommendations?

Has anyone here actually gone through with laser vision correction yet?
Does anyone have a ballpark idea of what the damage to my bank account is going to be?
I’m asking because it looks like I’m headed toward a life of wearing glasses, and frankly, I can't stand the thought of it.

If my memory serves me right, it was about 11 $0.00 years ago when I had that eye procedure (over at Mayo Clinic, right near Downtown).
