The director behind Iron Man 1/2 and Chef is bringing a fresh Disney's adaptation of the book about jungle to American theaters on April 14, 2016. It features an impressive lineup of talent providing voices for the characters: Bill Murray - Baloo (voice), Ben Kingsley - Bagheera (voice), Idris Elba - Shere Khan (voice), Lupita Nyong'o - Raksha (voice), and Scarlett Johansson - Kaa (voice). So far, the film seems to be garnering some truly wonderful reviews:

Quote : a storybook Come to Life with The essence of Old School Disney and Digital effects that open a New chapter in Cinematic enchantment

Visually stunning and entirely engaging

Might lack the post-vaudeville razzamatazz of its predecessor, but director Jon Favreau and a team of effects wizards plunge US into One of The Big screen's most engrossing artificial Worlds since avatar

Quote : Idris Elba's Shere Khan is The Best villain of The year sol Far

I caught it today. Really solid movie. The visual effects were top-notch. I watched it in 2D, but now I’m hearing the 3D version is incredible and actually worth the extra ticket price.

I have high expectations; the trailer was genuinely impressive, and given how positive the reviews are looking, I suppose I’ll have to catch it sometime soon.
I am actually quite glad they didn't go the route of dubbing. It might bother the younger kids, I guess, but it would be a shame to miss out on hearing such a stellar cast 😁.

Opening weekend earnings hit $291M, with the Domestic haul reaching $103M I suppose this is just another massive win for Disney 🙏

It’s sitting at 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, and people seem to be raving about the visual effects and the 3D experience. Because of that, it might actually be worth seeing in IMAX, which is something I haven't really felt like doing in quite a while.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this. I'm not sure if you all caught wind of this yet, but Warner Bros. is actually working on their own version of the Jungle Book for 2018. 😁

It looks like Disney is doubling down on the live-action remake craze. We’ve got an endless lineup headed our way—everything from Peter Pan and Jungle Book 2 to Maleficent 2, sword in the stone, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan (Mulan !!!), Dumbo, and Cruella. The next one hitting theaters in about a year is Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson.

Caught this in IMAX... honestly, the 3D wasn't anything to write home about..
But the movie itself? A solid 4.5/5... I was totally hooked...

After this, feel free to just give up.

This is excellent.

I’d love to take my little girl to see this, but she hasn't quite mastered reading yet. 😁
Does anyone know if there's a dubbed version available somewhere?

I don't think it's playing here, but honestly, I wouldn't say this one is for the little ones—it gets a bit dark in a few spots...

She survived the last Tarzan cartoon where his gorilla mother dies within the first 20 minutes...
Is it actually darker than that?

I'm not totally sure, but they made Shere Khan look absolutely terrifying! There are a couple of scenes with him where he takes out a wolf—it doesn't show everything explicitly, but the vibe is definitely darker. It doesn't feel like just some kid's movie; they actually went for a much more serious tone.

Fair enough. Thanks for the heads-up. I think I'll hold off until the digital release hits and give it a watch then. 😁

Honestly, keep asking for opinions! If anyone else has seen it, let us know... though I don't think this one is exactly for little kids. It's still amazing in 3D, though—it really pulls you into that world!
The voice acting was spot on, too. Bill Murray as Baloo is pure genius!

Is this just some kids' movie, or is it more like that 1994 version where adults can actually enjoy it too? I thought the '94 one was great, even if it only pulled in about $50 million total at the box office. This new one is already sitting pretty at over $500 million.

I'm talking about this one from 1994:

A truly stunning piece of cinema. It serves as a masterclass in high-end CGI, showcasing how seamlessly technical effects can be woven directly into the heart of a narrative. 👍

The CGI in this is honestly insane—those animals look way too real for comfort!

And whatever you do, don't bother seeing it in 3D. It’s just a total waste of money... 😉

This movie isn't exactly preschool material. The CGI is incredible—which basically means the animals look so realistic they're actually pretty terrifying. Even I felt a bit uneasy during that snake scene 😉

The CGI and 3D work here is flawless. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen 3D animation look this seamless; it feels completely natural. 👍The voice acting, the narrative, and even that small detail are all top-tier.

I caught it in 3D and it holds up. I agree it’s not quite right for preschoolers, but it isn't strictly a kids' movie either. I'm a grown man and I still enjoyed 😁
