How do I rotate a video?

she just goes on Google, types in the name of the program... runs the installer, picks either reinstall or install, and that's pretty much it. I guess she just needs to make sure she doesn't grab the absolute latest version, since that's apparently only for Vista (assuming she's still running Windows XP😬).

It isn't failing on every single video from the camera... we're talking about MPEG format from a Sony camera.

Oh, my bad, I totally misread what you were saying there.
Maybe try uploading a different video? Just... anything that isn't just a bunch of still photos, if possible.

Since you just need to rotate a video, I guess you should go into the Video and Audio settings in VirtualDub (using clones too!) and just select "Direct stream copy." That should do the trick!

I gave that a shot, and I'm getting this error:
The source video stream uses a compression algorithm which is not compatible with AVI files. Direct stream copy could not be used with this video stream.

Ah, I see! In that case, you might need to try using a different codec, like divx, xvid, or something similar for the video compression:
Go to Video > Full processing mode, and then under Video > Compression, maybe pick something like a divx codec to handle the compression...

But before you jump into that, what does it say under file > file Information? I'm curious to know what kind of video and audio compression we're actually dealing with!
