Antivirus: You could go with McAfee, or one of those "free" ones like😁 Avast (which is what I was using before I switched to this McAfee nightmare). With Avast, you have to register with your email, then they shoot you a password right away—it’s free, lasts a year, and then you just send them another email when it expires... honestly, it works pretty well, and people rank it as the top free option out there.

Firewall: Check out ZoneAlarm. They’ve got a free version too, and in my experience, it blocks more junk than Symantec or Cisco, both of which I've messed around with before.
