Google Drive account hacked

Hey everyone,

So, someone basically broke into my Google Drive recently, and I’m pretty sure they did it by cracking my security questions. I woke up to two back-to-back emails from Apple that night—one saying my Apple ID password had been reset, and another flagging a login to my cloud storage from a Windows machine using Chrome. Since it was 3 AM and I was fast asleep—and considering I don't even own a PC—there’s zero chance it was me.
Now the big question: how do I figure out who actually did this? It's not like I have anything scandalous stored in there, but the whole thing is still eating at me. 😠 It could just be some random internet troll, but the thought that it might be someone I actually know is way more unsettling than a stranger. I tried calling Apple support, but they either can't or won't help me track anything down. Then I went to the local police, and they basically laughed in my face, telling me they don't waste their time on "petty" stuff like this. 🥳
Does anyone know if there's a way (besides going through the cops) to dig up the perpetrator's IP address, or even just a general location of where they logged in from? Any advice would be massively appreciated. 🙂

Isn't there some kind of setting on that supposedly all-powerful Apple gear that lets you check exactly where and when everything was logged in, kind of like how you can easily track all that stuff on this Google platform?

Are you absolutely sure those emails are actually from Apple? To be honest, I don't own a single one of their devices here in the States, yet I keep getting these "Apple" notifications about my ID being reset and all that other nonsense. Can you still log in to your Apple ID without any issues?

Could you send over a screenshot of the emails? Just make sure to hide the sensitive stuff... then we can take a look. If I remember correctly, when you first set up an Apple ID, you have to pick three security questions.

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure if someone's trying to hack in, they just need to nail two of the questions plus your birthday and your Google Drive email.
The emails are definitely from Apple, unfortunately. When I woke up, my old Apple ID password just wasn't working anymore, so I had to reset everything. Here are the emails. Thanks for getting back to me. 🙂

I'm pretty sure there isn't. If there actually was, I bet the folks over at Apple customer support would be shouting it from the rooftops. 😢

If you successfully reset that Google Drive password, they should have received a notification prompting them to log back into their account once more..
Essentially, they aren't using your Apple ID anymore; otherwise, they would still be able to track your location through the Find My app
and identify which iPhone is being used.. Just create a strong password and you won't have any further issues. I actually received a similar alert a few days ago
notifying me that someone had logged into my ID using an iPhone 5s. I own a 5 and an iPad, while my brother has a 6. So, it was definitely an outside party. If I wanted to locate them
within a certain radius1.2 miles without deleting his device from the cloud, I could have just reset the password and called it a day. It turns out my brother had "lent" my Apple ID to someone else.. Ha. At least it ended well. Though, I suppose I could have easily called the police to report a stolen phone (even without paperwork, of course), but who knows? Maybe they would have even believed me..haha..
