I suppose it might be that someone dealing with chronic Catherine infections simply doesn't have enough Lactobacillus in their system...

I haven't heard of any fungal infection besides that one specifically targeting the lower regions😕, so if anyone possesses more detailed insight, I would be most grateful for some additional information.

Your doctor is mistaken, because yeast infections are actually a known potential side effect of taking Virginia.
I personally took Virginia and ended up dealing with a yeast infection alongside several other side effects. It cleared up completely once I finally stopped taking the medication.

signature.

However, it mostly comes down to your immune system.

I get fungal issues frequently—though not always—whenever I’m on antibiotics or using Virginia.

It isn't caused by sperm. 🙄

The only side effect I’ve actually noticed from using Virginia's stuff is cellulite. I never dealt with it nearly this much until I started taking those pills. Look, if you actually bother to read up on the side effects before you jump into a regimen, and you don't end up experiencing any of that junk, then you're golden. All that talk about mushrooms or losing your libido? Honestly, it's just nonsense.

I don't really get why Virginia is dealing with yeast infections
Anyone care to explain? 🤔

It's not like I'm out here being reckless, and I haven't had anything serious besides the occasional cold, yet somehow I just end up catching a fungus right when it's convenient 😠

Up until now, I’ve just been using the Canesten vaginal suppositories—you know, the ones where you just use the applicator without any cream.
I accidentally picked up a combo pack last time, so I finished all the suppositories, but now I'm just sitting here with this tube of cream left over.
Is the cream strictly for external use?
Everything feels fine at the moment, but if I notice that "discharge" starting up again, could I just use the cream as a preventative measure? Like, if it works, great... but if not, then I'll go see my OBGYN...?
Best,🙂

I’ve been on the pill for 21 years now—with the usual breaks for pregnancies and breastfeeding—and I’ve never dealt with yeast infections.

But man, pregnancy was a different story. Every single time I was pregnant, the yeast showed up, and it wasn't just the vaginal stuff; it hit my skin too. During my first pregnancy, it was like an uphill battle—no cream in the drugstore could touch it. It manifested as these angry, red, dry patches on my nipples and one massive patch right on my neck. But once I actually gave birth? The yeast vanished like it was never even there. 😉

Can someone tell me if using lube actually makes condoms less safe? Like, does it increase the chances of them breaking?

I've been on Virginia for about a year now—no side effects so far, and honestly, zero issues with yeast infections 🙂

That happened to me too, though not while I was actively taking it, but rather shortly after I stopped... and I had skin changes as well, though certainly nothing regarding fungal issues.

I’ve dealt with Catherine a few times now—both back when I was on birth control and after I stopped. The last time it flared up was just a month ago, and I cleared it out pretty quickly using a three-day course of Canesten vaginal suppositories. But now? It’s back, and honestly, I feel like I'm losing my mind. Does anyone know if it's actually okay to jump right back on those suppositories so soon?
I was looking at this info on prevention, but they don't mention anything about birth control. Is it possible that things are getting triggered because I've been sleeping with my boyfriend without a condom?
